Well it has a small population similar to the population of Belgium, and has a military of a similar size. How are you going to attack Sweden anyway? The land based options are to go through Finland. A minimum of 200 miles as the crow flies. Russia's convoy in Ukraine couldn't even make 130km from Belarus.

By air, well Russia would need to operate out of Kaliningrad or the very narrow corridor in the Gulf of Finland, and would be surrounded by NATO and other countries AA defences. Again, the route by sea is similar and would be limited to their Baltic Sea fleet.

He's not even going to do that is he? He's lost the plot, he knows it's over but hasn't got a way out.

At the end of the day if nato was to defend Ukraine, which is a sovereign state, invited in by Ukraine then that is legally and morally the correct thing to do.
