LOL yikes, so the creditors have largely taken a hit and I wouldn't be surprised if the purchaser takes a bit of a hit (at least notionally) now... though I guess he might not sell for several years.

It is completely unnecessary but if I had the chance and money to live in it I would. I quite like the idea of being the isolated extremely wealthy person who just spends his life alone amongst vast space and academia - it's been a staple of traditional post 1900 books and history eg The Lion The Witch and The Wardrobe or some of the early scientists and biologists. There is something erie and romantic about it.
