I do query the same payment of £350 for a room or a whole house though, not sure the reasoning on that?
And I assume since they will be entitled to benefits and accessing the job market (though we are talking women, children and pensioners) then if they had a whole house they'd be responsible for the rates, utilities etc etc? That's difficult enough for people who were raised here, let alone people traumatised refugees who might not even speak english.
Also, it's not supposed to just be giving them a roof over their head, but helping them get settled, into schools, doctors etc basically integrate them into society.
Exactly

People offering a place in their home do need to go into it fully aware of what they are committing to.
These are going to be vulnerable people who may have witnessed some horrific things. All will be distressed and need support as they've left everything and possibly everyone behind. It's not going to be here's a room, crack on.
