New car delays.

My Focus ST 4.5 has just been delayed by a minimum of 4 months today. Should have taken delivery March/April. Apparently some parts are built in Ukraine and to move the production from Ukraine to Spain will take around 3-4 months to get set-up and running.

Commercials too…

Our new Scania’s at work still haven’t arrived, all are built but awaiting electronic components of various sorts.

They should have arrived around September last year - my 17 plate that I drive had a 5 year/450,000Km (whichever reached first) lease, it’s now 5years old and nearing 520,000Km…

Ordered a Toyota RAV4 Excel back in January. Current delivery timescale stands at October. Hoping it might move a bit, but with my work routine 3 months on, 2 & 1/2 months off, I should be coming home right around the delivery date, hopefully.

Tell me about it, the company i co own builds aluminium tipping bodies for rigids and Scania and Volvo's are nowhere. Renaults are on target and coming through fine. We are waiting on some Scania's from October and we might see 1 towards the backend of March but we get emails every week from Scania GB with updates and they are constantly moving the delivery dates

I was hoping to see things getting a bit better this year but it seems like there's still a bit of catch up needed! This thread is making me glad I took an in-stock car on lease in December just gone, so don't need to look at renewing until late-2024. Hopefully by then things will have calmed down??

My Skoda had build slot in week 9 - commencing 28th of Feb, but dealer is not sure when it will be finished/delivered ...
a lot of cars are awaiting for their chips..

I think we will have a couple of years of disruptions at least.

After having our car put back from 5th March to 8th of April delivery we received a call from the dealership yesterday and our new delivery date is........

Tomorrow :D

It’s probably my cancelled order  Not Grey is it?

Lol no digital white. Was ordered on the 8th January and I must admit I was a bit sceptical when I was told it would be a March delivery but they seem to be getting the cars, there was an A45 shootingbrake getting ready to go out when I was in yesterday and they have another 20 cars in the yard waiting to go.

Ah, I cancelled mine at the end of last year.

Get some pictures up when you get it though! I’ve never actually seen one…

Lotus are delaying some of the V6 FE orders for those who placed deposits slightly later In August and September to delivery in 2023 now, thankfully I placed my deposit in early July so still on schedule to get one this July/August and new orders now seem to be at around the 70-80 weeks leadtime mark.

Things seem to be getting worse, not better for some manufacturers at present and certain used marques seem to be selling like crazy again.

Definitely getting worse for some manufacturers!

If you check FORD's UK WEB site, it doesn't look like you can configure either a Focus or a Fiesta at the moment. So I'm assuming here that they have stopped completely taking orders for these cars!!

Strangely, my factory build POLO GTI appears to have actually got pulled forward. Week 22 build and August delivery, rather than week 26 and October delivery. Though I shall only believe this when I get the heads up that it's actually been built.
How true this is ... but I've been told by the dealer that cars built in South Africa (like all right hand drive POLO's are) are not suffering so badly.

If you want a Golf at the moment, you might as well forget it. Some guys on the GTI/GTE/R forum have been waiting over 12 months already for their cars!!!

Certainly makes sorting the budget out etc. a bit difficult. And if you are currently on a PCP (like me and many others) things could get VERY difficult if your current finance deal expires before your new car comes.

Though considering what else is happening in the world at the moment, I suppose we are lucky if this is all we have to moan about (besides the price of electric, fuel , etc. etc.). We live in interesting times.

Looks like VW did keep to the original build slot for my wifes care as received this email earlier:

Great news, your new Volkswagen Polo has completed its final checks and has now left our factory. It won't be long now until it's at your retailer (although I am not sure their definition of not long is the same as most!).

So glad we got our Mercedes CLA last month as it now appears that the only one you can get on the website is the CLA 45 at over £60k.

Also saw this on a dealers website 22 plate CLA thats almost £15k more than what it would have cost.
