Supposedly?

So like a ballistic missile that can carry nuclear warheads and hit another continent? Something that has existed for 60 years now?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Intercontinental_ballistic_missile
supposedly because they never actually test fired it as far as I'm aware.
all they ever did was release really poor cgi of how it works.
that's why I say supposedly.

when Intel/AMD release a new cpu do you say oh look another CPU something that existed since the 70s?

In one poster's opinion on here we are talking of Ukraine fighting "Slavic peasants" <lol>. Peasants with nuclear weapons and ICBM's, they are a new type of peasant to me...

No matter what weapons they wield, Russians will always be what they've always been.

No matter what weapons they wield, Russians will always be what they've always been.

To be fair there was a moment during the USSR where they were in fact not plagued by such an association, but the oligarchs and old/new apparatchiks stole that from them out of fear that any notion of hope or social mobility would lead to a loss of power.

Is this circulatory argument about the definition of winning the product of a UK education system that shuns the concept of winners and losers for that of mere "participants"? Meaning the importance of winning is blighted by many?

I've accepted many years ago that the binary "win/lose" is in reality multiple variate and multi dimensional if that makes sense.

The feeling of control going along with achieving the objective he's declared. May be a better evaluation.

I don't think he's worried about Russians or the economy, for them they produce resources and sell them to buy products. That capability will always be there and unless green energy replaces oil/gas then regardless of the markets he knows russia will always have a money making capability - long after he's dead and the sanctions have disappeared.

Which leads to simply being concerned with the breakup of Russia and his family position at the top of Russia.

The breakup of russia is a concern that all the top bods in his party are concerned with. Hence by showing ability there he ensure the family position in the longer term.

So irrespective any agreement made in the past and from any negotiations now - that would be the only binary "win" point.

Then hardly any unpopular opinions get posted and everyone just agrees with everyone so they don't get downvoted.

That is literally the opposite of what happens on every social media platform with a 'like' button. Have you never visited Twitter?

It wasn't stolen from them, they gladly handed it over. The Russians ended up with a dictator because they wanted one. The serf needs a lord.

same could be said about us and the tories ppe contracts. we gladly let them hand over all the monies to their friends.

lets pretend we aren't basically in the same situation

Has Russia ever actually confirmed any were killed yet?

Yes.

'War in Ukraine: Fourth Russian general killed - Zelensky.'

Maj Gen Andrey Sukhovetsky, a deputy commander at the same unit as Gerasimov, was reportedly killed by a sniper on 3 March.

Like Gerasimov, Sukhovetsky was part of Russia's military operations in Crimea and in Syria.

Unlike the other generals, Sukhovetsky's death was reported in the Russian media and Russian President Vladimir Putin confirmed in a speech that a general had died in Ukraine.

Well yeah, you literally voted for them and told them you were happy for them to do that. Now everyone's acting surprised that it happened.

Another Russian General dead.

Bad profession to be in :D Whats that, the 6th, 7th?

I find it ridiculous that discussion of how we or the Ukrainians could make Mr Putin *think* he's done enough to have said to have won has gained traction, just how stupid do people imagine he and his military are?

In one poster's opinion on here we are talking of Ukraine fighting "Slavic peasants" <lol>. Peasants with nuclear weapons and ICBM's, they are a new type of peasant to me... I think the concept of the importance of winning is still held strong in many countries, even if it's been castrated by certain elements in the UK. To not realise that is a fundamentally bad and naieve mistake.

You can't make a narcissistic personality think anything. They define the boundaries of what is a win, not anyone else. They don't care who suffers until they get it either.

Is vlad mad? Discuss

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-60807134

Interesting read, probably not mad but delusional maybe with a temperament which doesn't accept failure.

I can think of few British institutions such as the NHS, the police, fire and ambulance services, immigration services, the DVLA, et cetera, and even the day's government itself where a leader with a temperament that does not accept failure would not be a refreshing and substantial benefit to them.
