I've kind of been reluctant to say it - but the way the US is acting reminds me of the lead up where it just felt like the US was reacting ahead of the threat we could see like they knew with certainty where the next few days were going... and they are acting like that now - i.e. the Stryker battle group sent to the border with Belarus, appear to be moving tanks from storage in Norway closer to the region, not just making them ready in case, etc. which if as seems likely the earlier urgency was due to having intel coming from fairly high up in the Russian government is concerning.

What are you saying ?

I'm saying the way things are being moved around doesn't seem to be just generally increasing the state of readiness but as if the higher-ups as Twinz put it are reacting to specific intelligence and that specific intelligence suggesting it isn't just going to end with the matter somehow resolved between Russia and Ukraine alone.

EDIT: Somewhat tenuous but related to that:

It is possible US intelligence has come to a similar appraisal.

I wanna know where all the stuff is everyone sent to ukraine? why do they still need more anti tank weapons etc... are they selling them on the black market or what?

This is not a video game, they don't have unlimited ammo. You do understand how weapons work in real life, right?

Interesting month ahead, if Ukraine start to push elements of the Russian military into a defensive posture, and even backwards, I wonder if Putin will see this as a potential threat to the territorial integrity of his country, conditions which will 100% lead to some major escalation.
As long as they don't enter Russia it should be ok.stop at the borders.

Just a special operation - nothing to see here.
I think a larger “operation” with the rest of the Russian forces was on the cards. This is why it’s so important that they fail in Ukraine. It may not stop them lashing out at nearby countries and I think that can happen without nukes.

Sanctions are beginning to bite in Russian cities. Will nobody think of the proletariat.

That is the second front.

Hmm let me see.. an RSA 256bit based cryptographic currency (quantum is threatening this in the next 5 years). As soon as it's broken you have a worthless currency that's considered critical risk. Paying for oil with bitcoin would need to be immediately laundered or the Russian economy would simply implode. Worse case is that russia then uses the bitcoins to purchase outside and the increased reliance on bit coin will make the world economy even more problematical.

Not being able to or control sanction bitcoin is simply allows war criminals to launder their their cash for virtual and non-virtual goods (yachts anyone).

It's unfortunate that any war impacts innocent civilians, more so those under a dictator that is not held to account. I feel sorry for the average Russian wanting to get on with life - this is Putin's war.

The danger is that the FSB saw what happened when Germany reunited and the KGB/FSB were targeted and years of pent up revenge were exacted by the population. They are driven by that fear of loosing their own "position" in Putin's hierarchy.

The current generation of russian people understand the west, the new generation will be indoctrinated putinites and so the ideology will continue for 20-60 years. It is up to the Russian population to make their voices heard or to comply with Putin's wishes.

A new toy for the Christmas list.

This is awesome, lol.

It's not.

It may, or may not, have put the idea about (although nearly always these kind of stories are put about by Bitcoin enthusiasts in a dishonest attempt to push up prices) but there is precisely zero chance of it actually happening. Bitcoin is not a currency and it's not capable of acting as one. It simply can't process sufficient transactions, and its wild instability makes it hopelessly useless as a currency even if it could.
