COVID-19 (Coronavirus) discussion

Oh and the newer ones are returning to infecting lung tissue like the wuhan and delta strains did rather than the less serious upper respiratory omicron BA.2. So autumn and, winter ahead looks... interesting.

Hadn't seen that was the case - that isn't good if we see surges of it like the past.

It's strange watching COVID play out on my Garmin watch / Garmin connect. The last couple of days are just showing insane stress levels that are over double what they normally are. There's a reading called body battery which has just stopped charging because even when I'm asleep my stress levels are crazy. HR is elevated to about 65 from a usual resting rate of sub 50 so it's not massive but I can feel my heart pounding. All in all it's carp!

The aches came last night around 20:00 and I ended up falling asleep whilst watching a movie with the girls and missus. Woke up around midnight and was awake until 02:30 where really strangely and quiet suddenly, the aches and headache just stopped. I slept all night from that point on and woke up feeling fine.

Over the course of the day the cough has returned to be an annoyance and makes me feel sick but every other symptom that I had, which were only headache and aches haven't been back.

Don't really know if that's a good sign or not.

Day 6/7. Still testing positive, about half as much as when symptoms first started. The most normal I’ve felt, few symptoms left, just feel a bit more tired than normal. At least with my work policy I’m not back til Friday unless I test negative.

My sister (and brother in-law for the second time) has now finally picked it up, but seems very mild so far. She has been around people with it frequently over the last 2 years due to her job (and work mandated multiple tests a week) so weird how she has only had it now.

I had colds lasting this long - feeling rough as hell for a few hours then wake up forgetting about I was unwell the previous day

Day 5 of symptoms for me and felt much better today

The morning started with coughing up alien goo and then settled.. I have felt on and off sickly and a tiny bit groggy but overall a decent enough day

I went for a walk and had some really strange joint pain

This is the strangest I've ever felt, such an odd virus

Hoping tomorrow continues to improve and in the coming days testing negative and done with it.

Oh and I can't taste anything or smell a thing.

Certain things taste really odd. I have some walnut halves right now as a snack and they taste bitter as hell which they aren't!

Difficult to sift through this thread with people using it as a symptom diary but if BA.4 / BA.5 is doing the rounds now, the people I know that have had it have had either zero or minimal symptoms.

Judging by the up tick of reports of people losing sense of smell/taste and other Delta like symptoms I'm guessing the newer Omicron variants are starting to go around but most seem to be reporting a mild case so far.

Weird how it goes around - end of May seemed like it had vanished off the face of the earth around here, now seeing it making an appearance again with 2-3 people I know in person picking it up end of last week and local hospital stats creeping upwards again after dropping to very low levels.

Yeah same. I'm still testing positive though, although I didn't expect not to as it's only been 3 or 4 days. One of the biggest issues for me is the lack of sleep, I'm lucky if I'm getting 3 or 4 hours a night and as I've said stress levels through the roof.
