There is a very good chance you will see those prices for S/H cards.
It won't get any slower, you just may get something faster for the same money if you wait, but that's always been the case. You also get months of use out of it right now. No wrong choice, just what suits your circumstances.
That's a massive upgrade! I'm stuck with a 5850, ok for office work, until the new generation launches.
Yep, pairing it with an i5-12600k so should be set for a few years (1440p). Good luck with the new launch - I will be watching with interest as it's been a fascinating learning journey for me and this is my first build.

Yes I'm aiming for 5800X3D +7700XT. Should keep me going at 1440p for a while. I think anything around those kind of specs will last as there aren't that many games pushing the hardware right now.12600K+6800XT is a good solid option atm for sure

Auctions are ending generally just below £900. However, the seller above is pretty trustworthy at this stage.

That's quite funny as it goes. Mostly because when there was a "Would you buy a mining GPU?" and loads of people said "No" the miners were quick to react with stuff like "You are idiots it doesn't hurt the cards at all !". Yet, when it comes time to sell they lie

Opinion: The best time to stop crypto mining was 2009. The second best time is now.

I wouldn't mind buying a mining GPU if they were honest and admitted it because then I'd believe them if they said it's been very well looked after and kept at 60°C.
However, if an advert is dishonest and says it's only been used for gaming then what else are they lying about? I'd never buy from someone who wasn't honest about it.
