i have a lavazza pod coffee machine. It tastes better than the bean to cup machine at work (delonghi something or other) and tastes better/as good as me making with a gaggia espresso machine, as making coffee a couple of times at weekends, i never got consistent at getting good results.
The thing that put me off the pod machines was originally the taste, the early ones i tried were nothing special, but the waste irritates me. cellophane wrapped boxes, aluminium pods with plastic lids... all for a few cups of coffee. The Lavazza ones come in a cardboard box with compostable pods. and i couldn't be happier with it really. We generally have it as a flat white type drink, using the frother which came with it... if you want to drink espresso, then you'd need a pretty swanky bean to cup machine to get good results, as the grind needs to be pretty fine for good espresso. a decent grinder is pretty expensive on its own.
