Amazon Prime Day 2022

I buy from Amazon all the time (at last weekly) and yet I miss Prime Day because the date keeps changing! Last time I was aware was about a month ago when my tech group was discussing it on Signal, so I thought it was back in June.

Looking to get a new Nespresso machine!
My daughter got a Nespresso Vertuo recently. It gets mixed reviews but it was reduced to £80 and then we got a further 10% discount at John Lewis through a family member. It may not be the best coffee maker but she loves it. The pods can be pricey and I prefer our normal filter coffee as it's cheaper per cup and tastes just as good. But it is convenient and needs far less cleaning.

i have a lavazza pod coffee machine. It tastes better than the bean to cup machine at work (delonghi something or other) and tastes better/as good as me making with a gaggia espresso machine, as making coffee a couple of times at weekends, i never got consistent at getting good results.

The thing that put me off the pod machines was originally the taste, the early ones i tried were nothing special, but the waste irritates me. cellophane wrapped boxes, aluminium pods with plastic lids... all for a few cups of coffee. The Lavazza ones come in a cardboard box with compostable pods. and i couldn't be happier with it really. We generally have it as a flat white type drink, using the frother which came with it... if you want to drink espresso, then you'd need a pretty swanky bean to cup machine to get good results, as the grind needs to be pretty fine for good espresso. a decent grinder is pretty expensive on its own.

Can highly recommend a bean to cup machine having moved from a Nespresso.
Picked up a Delonghi Magnifica Evo in April and I'm loving it - I don't really froth milk so aside from clearing out the used coffee ground tray its really easily to look after.

I've got the Delonghi Eletta Cappuccino, and it's way better than the Jura I previously had, despite being a lot lot cheaper.
They do make good gear.
