*** AMD "Zen 4" thread (inc AM5/APU discussion) ***

Some high end 7200 MT/s DDR5 modules detailed here:

PC5 57600 is now officially the highest supported standard.

Should be available to buy fairly soon.

I wonder if Zen 4 will support speeds upto 8000 MT/s? and will it be worth it?

AMD have mentioned very high clock speeds for DDR5, I think it will be possible, but would require running the memory controller at half speed.

unlimited power 13900k hits 345w in R23 according to the leaks. 35693 points using 254w

7950x overclocked on ln2 6.45ghz and the chip pulled 271w and scored 48k in r23

That's still less power than a 13900K! lol....

Highest score was over 50,000 at 6.7Ghz.

Over 40,000 on air.

Just found out that my Deepcool AK620 "is natively compatible with the AM5 socket, no other hardware is necessary for your installation". So, no mounting kit necessary :)

You can check here, by filling out the socket and Product Name for a model here:

Note - The Assassin III needs a mounting kit.

Hate to break it to you guys, you are comparing oced tuned numbers with stock.

stock zen 4 is impressive (air or aio), as with intel were just discussing what amd can do when put under similar conditions as intel, truly impressive from amd

But unless you tune both you arent putting them in similar conditions. The numbers of zen4 are from xoc with exotic cooling.

the above stock 7950x run vs the stock 13900k run paints a pretty clear picture tbh
Sure, as does the above 7600x against the 13600k. Or the 7700x. Or even a hypothetical 7800x. You need to go up to the R9 7900x to compete with the i5,lol

If thats with 170w consumption. I think its not, i predicted it will hit less than 35k @ 170w. At 220+ sure, it can do 39k

The OC Air score was at 226 watts, the 6.5Ghz one was at 271 watts.

I'm assuming the 39,000 stock score was at 170 watts.
