NVIDIA 4000 Series

@JediFragger you are a legend - really apprecaite it.

no need to have a larger power supply then i guess too?

is it ok to only have 3 of the 4 power connectors in, or will i get a benefit from all 4? i can cancel my order now.

This is wierd. I ran up HWInfo and it says that the GPU is hardly being used at all.

Quick one, installed my zotak 4090 oc. I’ve only had msi cards before but it looks amazing in real life.

Having slight issue my cpu use doesn’t go above 1-3 percent in games.

I’m using a hx850i, issue I have is my motherboard needs two power cables to the cpu. I had to unplug one to get enough power for gpu (needs four cables - only had three spare).

My psu just doesn’t have enough slots for me to plug in another cable. Just ordered an hx1200 is has one extra slot so can plug in the second cpu cable (that I removed). Assume it’s reasonable to conclude this will fix the issue?

Thanks all
If you look at this adaptor from Corsair, it would seem that they rate each PCI-E cable at 300 watts. That would mean it is safe to use the y splitter on the cable and only use two of them to draw 600 watts.

HX should be fine man, I'm running an RM850X with mine np.

I think with the 3 it just restricts you to 450w which is fine anyhow, got mine set to 80% PL and it's pulling 355-ish and not losing much performance at all.

I am but using geforce performance overlay
I had same problem with both AB and the AMD overlay (when I was running my 6900XT a few days ago). Only happened since the 22H2 update. It's get fixed at some point.

As long as yr gpu usage is 95%+ and fps are fine then you're ok.

Also I only use 1 cpu power cable to my motherboard and my 12700k runs fine at 5.4Ghz overclock (5.1Ghz all cores). Entire system now is just ****ing amazing and well balanced, powerful all over and am chuffed

Thank you. Least I can get rid of my 3090 tomorrow knowing my pc is working.

Getting 99 fps in Cyberpunk max everything ray tracing, 1440p ultawide with DLSS on quality. Big upgrade.
sounds about right I get 100-120fps in cyberpunk maxed out @ 3440x1440with dlss left on auto with a 12700k
gpu power limited to 70% in afterburner

Not too shabby, around 35 fps more than my 3090 with the same settings with the same ultrawide setup. I still can't warrant the price tag though, hoping next gen will be better and should warrant an upgrade then unless AMD can bring something to the market thats better priced.

I spoke too soon...

Anyone having issues with the Inno3d Ichill X3 with Timespy both normal and Extreme? Mine will not complete a test, Freezes then 3d Mark returns to menu just saying benchmark could not be completed due to error?

Temps are good never went over 66c but he benchmark doesn't last until the second scene then freezes.

Windows 11 22H2
Seasonic 850w Gold PSU using the 3 way adaptor.
12900k on Rog Strix Z690 Gaming A
Latest Nvidia drivers full DDU clean install.

Not sure if I have a duff inno 4090 here.

Edit...

I just noticed everytime it does it there's an error in event log saying Application error 3DMarkTimeSpy.exe faulting module C:/Windows/System32/ntd.dll
Ok here on my 4090 ichill x3 I just run timespy extreme and got 19549. I'm only on a 750w GPU but working as it should. Hope you get it sorted.

I have always had Vsync on and the game play is smoother ! Also it stops Screen Tearing you must have seen that without Vsync on.

I've only seen screen tearing if the framerate goes above the monitor max refresh rate but I use a frame limiter on my games and there is no tearing under max refresh

So is using vsync the same as a frame limiter? Doesn't vsync add latency?
