Na really, I dunno what it was, just really got bored. Unlike some I've found this season to be pretty good. And I also appreciated mclarens double points finish. But when Crofty is saying that not a lot has happened apart from we've completed laps and then that there haven't been many highlights following the (annoying) sky q and sky glass red button catch up spiel, you know it's bad.
Yeah, it was a dull race. Worst this season, imo, but worst in two decades? Nah. Not even close.
(Btw, I agree this has been a pretty good season)
Truth be told it feels that way but i suspect the reasons are twofold:
There have been a hell of a lot of mediocre to brilliant races in the last 5/7 or so years.
You naturally forget the dull ones.
I don't remember the Mexican GP being as boring though and I know it's not the most dynamic mostly.

Fell asleep; woke up just enough to notice the VSC so wound it back in excitement that something had happened and watched Alonso’s engine implode.
Other than that it was terrible. 2 from me.

Even his Alpine norked in the wrong place, not sure the safety car would have changed the result, unless you could nick in for softs maybe?
The VSC neutered any chance the Mercs had for catching the RB. They were actually both starting to reel in the RB just before the VSC (Russell was only 3 secs behind Perez) however both RB seemed to gain time under VSC and I guess the hard tyres cooled off too much and Merc stopped making ground afterwards
They've been on the back foot since Toto forced that technical regulation about floor rigidity through.
Hit Ferrari much harder than RB.

I don't understand why they pitted Lewis so early off of his mediums. He was telling them the tyres are fine, and it killed any tyre advantage they have over the Red Bulls.
Then to completely ignore Russells request to go long. Looked to me like at that point they'd realised they'd put Lewis on the wrong strategy and didn't want Russell challenging him.
McLaren showed how well that strategy would have worked with Riccardo.

Just watched a short clip of Max being interviewed, where a journalist asked about RBR's, Checo and his decision not to speak to Sky anymore. I thought Max's comments were pretty fair tbh, he spoke calmly and maturely. I'd probably feel the same after an entire year of hearing the same thing. The media knows how much power it has and how easily it can stir up social media etc, one of the disadvantages of modern day.
I saw Ted made some "quirky" comments whilst interviewing Lando too, which the latter didn't seem so pleased about.

Could see Lando felt Ted’s opening remark was unnecessary and he’s right, why should some fat bloke with no racing pedigree make snide remarks. There’s better ways to approach stuff. Ted has always been quite antagonistic. That may simply be a personality thing though, benefit of the doubt and all that.

He lost 2 places on the starting straight; that’s driver error and certainly not ideal. So not sure why pointing out that this is not ideal for Lando is such an issue? Also, what does him being fat have anything to do with his opinion being valid or not?
There are better ways to word things after a race when drivers are emotionally charged etc, depending on the responses you want.
Well I suppose being obese shows a poor level of self-control, which would be confluence with Ted’s ability to control his mouth too. Although that’s tongue in cheek, clearly. I do actually genuinely find it amusing though when unfit pundits (and fans tbh) etc comment on elite sportsman’s, I always have. It just seems ironic
