If (and I barely trust Warmonitor3) it's true that they've not told their forces in Kherson that they're retreating before now then the risk of a rout seems high.

Oh for sure he's the equivalent of 200zoka, but on UKR's side. But at least he's on the side of right.

I can see this retreat turning very chaotic for Russia, but I don't see why Ukraine should go easy on them. Less Russians crossing the river means less to fight later on.

Get some panic going, and mass surrender could be a thing.

Looks like Ukraine decided to push much like Kharkiv offence going at a rapid rate, in turn sounds like a chaos retreat on Russians side.

I see US Combat Veteran said this was a planned withdrawal rather then a rout or retreat but he was applying western standards to the Russian and army.

Without negotiating a temporary cease fire to allow them to evacuate safely how can the Russians move 20/30k troops to the east side of the Dinpro river when Ukraine can blast away at their columns with precision HIMARS strikes?

More than that why would Ukraine agree to a ceasefire? They would demand they surrender or leave without equipment at the very least.

In all this chaos it could lead to Ukraine possibly crossing the river and establishing a breach head.

Not sure what Russia command thought would happen really, they left it way to late and were stupid enough to keep pouring men and equipment into a situation that was hopeless.

Lets hope Ukraine are hitting the crossing points very hard now.
