Several journalists reporting we're taking legal action to try and terminate his contract. Apparently he's also been informed he is not to return to Carrington after the world cup

It's a blessing in disguise as we can get 26 million a year off the books and we have over a month to go window shopping for a new hungry young striker.

I'm just looking forward to Portugal looking a bit **** with Ronaldo and much better without at the WC and Ronaldos ego taking another battering.

Much better team to watch without him and I imagine that the Portuguese fans will be quite vocal if they are performing badle and Ronaldo is at the heart of it.

My 8 year old son only recently got big in to football these last couple of months and has decided he supports Man Utd. Bought him a shirt with Ronaldo on the back as he's his favourite player and bought tickets for a game in the new year to watch him play, as I figured he'd likely be off in January or definitely next summer...only for all this to happen. Bloody selfish git! :p :D

Get a big marker and change it to Garnacho. He’s gonna be a better player than Ronaldo ;)

Was sort of willing to see his side of things until the whole Rooney stuff came up. Calling him a 'Rat' and then chuckling about it with PM is just about the most vomit inducing thing I've seen in quite some time.

It's one thing to go to the press to manipulate the situation in your favor but another thing entirely to insult a fellow professional behind closed doors. Disgusting.

Thought the tone of whole interview in general was pretty nauseating. He comes across as very troubled and wildly out of touch, even for a celebrity of his stature.

rightly so too.

ronaldo going to need some counselling its obviously hitting him hard having to hang his boots up at top level which is totally understandable.
I've always thought he needs counselling in general, everything is about him, he's endlessly trying to prove a point. I felt for him after that interview though, didn't think I would.

Best to teach kids the hardest lessons early. Haha - personally i think we look and will be a better team without him, we just don't play a system that's soley dependent on service to a number 9, actually kind of excited for him to leave at this point and see who blossoms in his absence. (quietly hopeful martial can stay fit)

Yep, good riddance is correct. Thoroughly unlikeable and never wanted him back in the first place.
