When they stand 0 chance of winning a conventional battle, yes and transition into a partisan/gorilla war footing if there is the desire amongst the populace. Its a fairly tried and proved strategy.

Or they could freeze/starve to death to please the people on this forum. You guys would have been frothing at the mouth if the internet was available to you during Dunkirk :D

If Ukraine wants to stop fighting that’s a matter for them.

Ah so now you think that the democratically elected party in power in Ukraine stole the election in 2019 and are surpressing the people of Ukraine and their refusal to surrender to an invader is against the will of the people.

Good to know where you sit ideaologically (as bizarre and misguided as those ideas are).
 
Tbh anyone who suggests that Ukraine surrendering is a good idea is clearly in the pocket of the invaders. It is absolutely up to the Ukrainians as to whether they continue fighting. And all the time they are willing we should assist in as many ways as we can.

Bully’s need to be stood up to, otherwise they are emboldened. Capitulation is not what is needed.

I have to work now, so to be clear, as I first stated, if Russia continues to have the will to press the war in Ukraine, nothing is going to stop them from occupying the country, if not suppressing the will of the Ukrainian people.

If that statement makes me a Russian sympathiser in your eyes, well I couldn't care less. The majority of you come across as some kind of war kink fantasist.

I mean nothing except the collective will to fight and the west to arm and assist them, they're going backwards in territorial gain in case you've been sleeping for a few months.

There is a serious side to it - some advanced Russian missiles use MEMS sensors produced by the likes of Analog Devices (and other similar components) that are manufactured in the US or Germany, etc. and you can't necessarily just chuck another part in there, or doing so can impact on the missile's ballistics.

Though more often white goods are stolen to sell or send home, etc.

It may be shared infrastructure but typically you disable the distribution but not the station so that the population can recover. Russia have targeted the power stations themselves. Simply levelling everything is a completely different approach to military action with a different goal. Fear and subjugation.
