Your right but long term Ukraine really has no option other then jumping into bed with NATO. Without NATO membership there's no chance multi national energy companies like BP, Excon and Shell will even think out investing into Ukraine which they need to help with the cost of rebuilding the country.

I think they would claim the parts they occupy are Russia and they would respond in kind.

There won't be anything left to defend by the time the western procrastinators decide to give Ukraine what they needed 10 months ago. Even if NATO decided to supply it today they would need months of training before handing it over.

China is not now nor will at anytime, try and take land from Russia. Historically theirs or not it's not happening.

China doesn't have many allies, ******* off it's closest one would not be a smart move.

As NATO isn’t currently doing that, then it’s a hypothetical. But thanks for the keyboard warrior posturing. Gave me a lol before the drab football.
 
Mercenaries are not protected by the Geneva Convention or the generally accepted rules of armed conflict, so the AFU could just shoot every Wagner Group soldier out of hand.

Actually China 100% would take Russian land; but not under current Russian leadership because as you say they are allies. But if Russia collapses and has a revolution resulting in a pro western democracy developing in Moscow, well then China would absolutely go in and take back its historical territory, which it would claim is annexed back to China and will act as a buffer zone protection from the west.

Head of RT is panicking on TV that if Russia was to lose; her and her friends would be sent to The Hague (and she's right everyone on that show would be sent for inciting genocide if the ICC could ever gets its hands on them). Soloveyv tries to calm her down, stating not to worry because if Russia loses they will just nuke the entire world so they don't have to go to jail

This is Russia we're talking about. A humiliating loss is unlikely to lead to an explosion in pro-western sentiment. I'd expect them to come out of this resentful, at best.
