It's shown the UK that a long range ground to air interceptor is something that's very much needed if your own airforce is forced to sit back .

Not that the MoD will be looking at it like that.

Can't be many s-300's left now.

I think one thing the MOD should definitely look into is buying the SAMP/T system from MBDA, which is a land based version of the Sea Viper system fitted to the Navy’s Type 45 Destroyers that fire long range, high performance Aster 15/30 missiles. I mean, we already have a stock of those for the Navy, and people experienced using and maintaining the stuff, so it should bring the acquisition cost right down.

Reminds me of GW1 in 1991 - when the Army had to buy back the sold tracked rapier systems, as the army literally didnt have anything for class Sam work

Head of RT is panicking on TV that if Russia was to lose; her and her friends would be sent to The Hague (and she's right everyone on that show would be sent for inciting genocide if the ICC could ever gets its hands on them). Soloveyv tries to calm her down, stating not to worry because if Russia loses they will just nuke the entire world so they don't have to go to jail

I think you're misunderstanding. She's saying higher ups shouldn't be fearing the Hague and should be commiting more war crimes to win. They're still in denial that Russia can get something out of this by commiting war crimes, which simply isn't working for them

News: A Russian Wagner base in the Central African Republic has been blown up by a single unidentified aircraft that entered air space from outside the countries borders. No one has claimed responsibility

I was hoping something like this would happen. Russia/Wagner is getting beyond desperate.

Definitely - been saying it for awhile. Something I'd been overlooking a bit as well is we seem to be relying on additionally having the ability to potentially intercept ballistic missiles and the likes using QRA aircraft and so on - but that leaves a huge gap in dealing with foreseeable, unlikely, but possible and high impact contingencies such as what if some Russian elements decide Putin isn't being extreme enough and try to attack the UK in a smaller scale but with ballistic missiles either conventional or nuclear.

Never mind potential battlefield situations which again are fairly unlikely but foreseeable possibilities as the world seems to be going through some silly contortions right now.

That's cool, I think they were also using roads etc.. and fortunately had moved a lot of aircraft out of harm's way at the start of the invasion. The massive printouts of damaged hangers is genius though! :D

It's okay, like most European nations we know the US will cover our shortcomings everytime...

Most European nations are pretty well tooled up when it comes to SAM systems. Off the top of my head, Germany, Spain and the Netherlands operate a mix of PAC-2 and the latest PAC-3 versions of Patriot, while Germany’s mulling also buying the Israeli Arrow 3 anti-ballistic missile system, and both France and Italy already operate the MBDA SAMP/T system I mentioned before. It seems to be just the UK that’s always had a thing about not having long range land based air defence out of the big European nations.

Seems weird to me - the geography of the UK makes it a relative fortress if we can control the skies - so not having decent long range systems seem inept and complacent.
