*** Big Fat Weight Loss Thread ***

Another huel-er here. Actually tastes quite nice (black edition) although haven't used it for ages as the meal plan has come in pretty much on target.
Would recommend.

These TDEE calculators make me wonder just how accurate they are. On one hand, I appreciate that they're only a guide and suitable starting-point, but can't take more precise details into consideration such as food sensitivities or genetics (e.g. people trying to attain a look which isn't maintainable or perhaps even possible). However, they always seem to be surprisingly generous with the calorie suggestions. One of them suggested that I should be on close to 3k as maintenance... you're having a laugh! :D

Makes no sense to me in using calculators for this very reason, everyone is different.
Just track what goes in your gob and adjust it in gradual steps to get the results desired.

92.8kg this morning! Have lost a stone since starting in October. Nice to see steady and sustained progress.

I’ve reset the goal weight to 88kg which would allow me to achieve a BMI in the normal range for the first time in my adult life (albeit only just). The new calorie intake targets are slight terrifying in that the lower margin is 1640 which seems like a real challenge. Upper range is 2200 so more realistic and I’ve been able to stick to around 2000 with reasonable ease over the last couple of months (apart from Christmas!).

Not sure curry and a beer this evening was a very sensible way to capitalise on my progress but things are trending the right way!

I'm mad with myself as I've put on 10kg in 3 months. I blame it on my medication making me ravenous. :D Really need to get a grip or else I'll be back in three digit kilogram territory again.

I've been on pre prepped meals for the last month or so.
They have been excellent (although not cheap in the slightest.)
Barcode on them also makes it easy as pie to document what goes in your gob each day with myfitnesspal.
Started on PrepKitchen
Now moved over to LionsPrep

Macro adjusted for high protein low carb.

90kg last May.
78kg today
75kg goal before bringing it up to 'maintenance'

Do they fill you up? I'm wary of all these meal companies (well I've only heard of Jane Plan and Wiltshire Farm Foods) but they strike me as being just processed ready meals. I guess Lion's Prep is different having looked at their website. I might be tempted to give them a whirl.

I imagine they'd fill you up just like any other meal of that size?

@Fuzz Great work on the weight loss though and if that's what's worked for you then it's brilliant.

Yea. I generally don't eat anything else as I've been having three meals a day inc breakfast.
10am breakfast
1pm lunch
6:30pm dinner
I have coffee by the bucket load and last night I did scoff a hotcross bun but it works!!

Its not ready meals with all the junk to make them last months sat in the supermarket, they are fresh prepped and sent out twice a week in a cool bag.
Prep kitchen meals are tasty AF, sadly their packing dept was a complete let down. Constantly getting the wrong thing or missing items.

Just to be aware... they sent me a care package a number of times due to screw ups and some of those were their fat loss brand / line... DO NOT RECOMMEND. :D
Breakfasts (more like puddings to be honest) are HIGHLY RECOMMENDED though
The fat loss line seemed to me to be bland, boring and seriously lacking calories... they must be for 5.0ft tall females or something or you're supposed to eat more than three meals a day..
The same meal as above in fat loss low carb form is 461 cals, so you'd need 4 meals a day to hit 1800 ish... at £7 a meal it makes no sense when I can get higher protein low carb muscle gain in 3 meals a day for £8 and have a richer, tastier more filling meal for £4 less a day.

After letting my weight creep up the last year it’s time to get back on macro tracking.

What apps are people using to log nowadays, is myfitnesspal still the best database?

buy and read the paperback "Atomic habits"
I've never really read a lot of books, but this last year with a lot changing in my life, I've read several 'self-improvement' types and tbh, having been hyped so much, I was a little disappointed by it. It was good and I guess I would recommend it still, just not what I had hoped. Maybe I should try it again and concentrate more or something...

Others I took 5, 6 ot 7 bullet point type ideas to think about, this one only really habit stacking and the other similar reward-related version of HS, both of which seem a little obvious tbh? As I say, maybe I just didn't pay enough attention to it.

Maybe having a listen to the guytalk about the book would be better?
