I went with Squirt because i'm immature (and it seemed to be highly rated)
I ordered an 11-32 just before posting here yesterday, which was £38 at the time at Merlin (now I see it's increased to £40, like some other options), along with a few other bits.Mind you, I've just found it's only the 30T that is that cheap. The 34T is £58.50... and out of stock on Wiggle.
I’m bought in to the Silca wax, both the hot melt variant and topping up with the bottle stuff. Name escapes me.I tried to do a search, so dont hang me for asking!
Whats everyones preferred lube choice? Im just starting to read up / watch on Zero friction cycling test results, ive just ordered some Tru Tension Banana slip Tungsten stuff to try, wondered what everyone else was using?
So I think this is the issue for me to considerI’m bought in to the Silca wax, both the hot melt variant and topping up with the bottle stuff. Name escapes me.
Excellent results in terms of cleanliness and wear so far. Don’t expect it to be quiet though!
nice - finally get to see the derailleur in situ - did you need to play with height of front RD, or instructions say what the arm chain ring gap should optimally be.Also, capturing the cleanest this will ever look!
Looking good. Are you going to trim the fork steerer once you’ve dialled in height etc?
Based on your location, Ocuk group ride round Bowland on the cards?![]()

personally had a new chain day yesterday ... I always take a couple of links out, and played with FD height, too - yours looks close to wrapping.
Done!
Although i was too lazy to get up this morning to actually take it for a maiden ride!
Let me know how you get on, From what ive read a new chain when going to a new turbo cassette sees good results so they can wear at the same time.Just bought a new ultegra 11 speed cassette and chain for £65 delivered from ebay to hopefully fix the noise issue I have with the wahoo kickr trainer. People seem to suggest that the cassette you get with it is a bit **** and can be the cause of the noise problem. Will probably move the 105 cassette from the bike onto the trainer and use the new ultegra on the bike.
105 hasn't done more than a few hundred miles so it should all be OK.

I recently got a Zwift Hub, and the new cassette and old chain from my bike are a bit noisy too in combination. Going to look at a new chain soon and see how that goes. Going to check the wear on mine later now that Amazon delivered my Chain wear Gauge.
Is there a good high street store that has a good stock of cycling shoes?
Mine are some Boardman ones, which seem a bit big for me. As i need to start cycling more following advise i can't run for a while it makes sense to get a better fitting pair of shoes to avoid aggravating my foot injury, but it's a bit of a minefield to know where to look!
Merlin is close by, maybe my best shot?
Will do. The current groupset on my bike is quiet on the road and the whole thing hasn't done very many miles. I think its just a bit of a crappy quality cassette that they give you with the trainer. Hopefully anyway.
Are you looking to get a good fit or good value for money? I have just ordered a couple of pairs of lakes from sigma sports to try on because they were discounted and sigma have a good returns policy. There is a shop near me with loads of shoes but I don't want to pay full price because thats a lot of money and I don't want to be the dick that tries on loads of shoes only to go and buy them online.
