Official FIFA 23 Thread

Just started playing ultimate team, opened a few packs, it won't let me transfer list any players for some reason?
If you check the details of each player you can see if they are "Tradeable" or "Untradeable".
Basically with untradeable players you don't want, put them into Squad Building Challenges.

Before long you will have the joy of duplicate untradeable cards and have to faff about remembering which ones are dupes and hunting down the most appropriate SBC to plough them into, so you can clear your "unassigned items" and open further packs.

Just a headsup if you have Amazon Prime, there's a new pack recently released on Prime Gaming:

Item(s) included:

(7) Gold Rare Players

(2) Player Picks with minimum 82+ OVR

(12) Rare Consumables

Loan Kevin De Bruyne on 25 games

edit: nothing amazing from mine, including my player pick selections I got 86 Sir Chesney, 84 Ramos, 84 Diaby and some random 83 TOTW from Australia. Also the KDB loan is just his normal gold card which is disappointing at this stage, I already own a higher rated untradeable TOTW variant so it's literally useless unless I were to put my existing card into an SBC (actually, it's worse than useless, because it means yet another loan player to scroll through when looking for Gold Rare fodder). Wouldn't been more interesting if it was the 97 TOTY card.

POTM Mbappe is live

1x 86
1x 87
3x 88
5x 89
3x 90

That's ridiculous. Guess my quest to get an Mbappe card goes on, I won't even attempt this

A 5 mil value SBC, more than twice the cost of his previous one for a +1.

Even if you grinded rivals, WL and squad battles for a month you'd struggle to get the fodder for it.

You'd have been better waiting until Friday as there are no special cards in packs right now :(

Damn, it's stuff like this that hacks me off, it's like a full time job keeping up with all the quirks like that. Had something similar in FIFA22 with an 85x10 that if you opened it too early had only gold cards.
In general I don't really like the way they move special cards in and out of packs, I'd prefer it if the pool of special cards just steadily increased so I could get random Out of Position of Winter Wildcards or whatever still, but pulling cards before they put new ones in seems bang out of order.

It's a medium grind I'd say, because:
1) Grealish takes minimum 10 matches
2) Kuluveski isn't a slam dunk to get an assist from a cross in every match for the reasons I mentioned above (RW with 3* right foot)
You can do the players in parallel however so basically it's 10 matches plus however many you did before Grealish was released, unless Ederson's is particularly difficult (hoping it will be keep clean sheets in 4 matches or something)

That said it's nowhere remotely near the grind for Future Stars Gordon because of the multi-layered requirements that could only be achieved in specific competitions you don't always have access to (Fut Champs Playoffs and Fut Champs Finals).
Relegation Scrap was grindy in the sense of needing to play a lot of games with like 6x PL, 6x Eredivisie, 6x Serie A etc meaning you couldn't do them in parellel.
And then thinking back I spent an absolute age doing Squad Foundations for Eredivisie, POR1, MLS, Belgium etc etc, some of them I think you had to play 20 matches. World Cup grindathon also with all the different nations.

Sometimes when I'm taking a shot the camera zooms in on that player, is there any way to stop that?

Also the amount of times I want it to switch to my DMC but it doesn't is annoying as hell

I’d sooner do the fut champs ones tbh at least it’s something I would usually do

My point is sometimes you couldn't do it. E.g. I qualified for FUT champs finals which prevented me from completing the FUT champs playoff objective as you are not allowed to play FUT Champs Playoffs whilst competing in the Finals. And I needed to complete the FUT Champs playoff objective to unlock the variant of the player to use in the Finals. So it was a catch-22, because I was in the Finals I couldn't unlock the player I needed to use in the Finals

Haven't played FIFA since 20/21? Every time I swing by FIFA threads to check how good the latest version is, who's enjoying what all the posts are about FUT packs and unlocking cards. Game sounds secondary to Pokémon card collecting

If it wasn't for FUT would anyone be playing it?

It's almost exclusively about FUT from what I can tell. That said, I didn't start playing FUT until late in the FIFA21 cycle, and I would say modern FIFA is still a really good game even without FUT. I didn't play FUT at all in FIFA10 or FIFA14. You've got career mode, Volta etc. The issue is fundamentally you get bored eventually just doing the standard game because there's nothing really keeping it fresh. FUT brings new content every day, aside from the card collecting it just means you have a reason to not just use the same team every match.

Completed the ballers sbcs now saved all my fodder and put it into the 89+ World Cup / icon pack and packed 90 drogba I’ll take that! See how I get on this weekend played 53 hours according to PlayStation Home Screen squad is looking ok still abit short in some areas but still holding off buying any fifa points although that 3k pack looks tempting from what I’ve seen on TikTok but again holding off staying strong :)

I've played seasons for the past 5 years and only recently got back into FUT.
