Star Trek: Picard

great ep!

not sure why they stole the cloaking device, i was hoping they would just take the bird of prey. They said starfleet ships all talk to each other now so, cloaked or otherwise, the ships could still track them surely

Yeah, I thought they would just use the Defiant. Also thought they might take the fleet from the museum.

In the last ep we saw they stole picards body i think. Now, i was thinking, I think they want picards/jacks illness and to use it against humanity somehow, could explain wanting jack and picards old body. Maybe they plan to do their revenge where s31 infected them so changlings gona infect humanity.

This is crazy good

Just watched episode 4, good so far, seems to be a lot more emotive and 'realistic' when it comes to how people interact with each other vs TNG, apparently Roddenbury wanted no conflict etc amongst the crew, idyllic, but not realistic.

not only that, the cloaking device must be near 100 years old. the modern day star fleet sensors should be easily able to detect it

While watching the excellent S3 of Picard, i felt a hankering to watch:

First Contact - love it.

Insurrection - this was bad. I would have been disappointed if i had gone to the cinema to watch this! It opened like a Pride and Prejudice movie and the special effects? OMG - very, very poor. The whole movie felt like a 2 parter episode. It would have been great as episodes, but as a ST TNG movie - ooooof

Nemesis - still to watch.

Such a brilliant episode this week. Goosebumps galore when watching the old ship museum.

It was never gonna happen, but there was a 1% chance in my mind that they could have just boarded the Defiant and Voyager and gone back to Daestrom and destroyed the 3 Starship vessels. Defiant had cloaking and quite a heavy arsenal at the end of DS9 with all the upgrades for the dominion war. Voyager got kitted out with some super shields and other Borg tech in the final season. Worf captaining Defiant. Seven captaining Voyager. They kick ass for a few episodes. Come up against the fleet at some point, then Geordie busts out a Enterprise G that we havent seen before that was hiding in Hangar 12 and joins the battle. It's only slightly less plausible than them retrofitting the cloaking device to the Titan in less than 10 minutes!

Anyway, back to reality, I think that's all the old gang from TNG that were in the trailers appeared now. Geordie was the last one iirc. Ro Laren was a surprise. Could they still have any cameos up their sleeve? Apart from Janeway I can't really think of anyone.

I still think we will see some sort of Enterprise ship be used in this series. We can only be a few episodes away from the scene where all of the old Enterprise crew appear together on a ship, and it can't just be they helm the crappy Titan together!

It's already confirmed we'll see the Enterpise F as it's being retired and also apparently the D in some fashion. I think that's what is in Hanger Bay 12.
