What are the rules regarding bringing food into airport/aeroplane? I know you cant bring liquids like drinks etc in hand luggage but can you bring crisps and cereal bars from home?
I know you can get ripped off at duty free like at a cinema so was wondering on what rules are for aeroplanes and airports?

for the liquids/drinks thing - Take empty bottles through security, and fill them up once you're airside. Perfectly allowed (and it's what the Heathrow security people recommended to us when we flew a couple weeks ago).
I don't see an issue with bringing food either. You just probably won't be able to take it through customs at your destination.

If you're planning on taking a full picnic (loads of sandwiches, chips and dips etc. etc.) it's probably going to get binned, but if you're taking a few snacks such a crisps, cereal bars, chocolate etc then you'll be fine.

Also, cinemas do not care if you take your own food in, most of the staff are teenagers on minimum wage.

Nowadays peanuts are frowned upon so don’t take those.

Personally I see no issue with you taking food on the plane, though stinky fermented fish probably best avoided.

If you take crisps, put a pinhole in the bag to let the air out, otherwise they blow up like balloons in the cabin pressure.
Lol didnt know about that thanks.
Was looking to take some Doritos big bags with us. Dunno what the rules are in greece but they probably get polished off on the plane.
Shame cant take peanuts those would keep me going.

Wont be any sandwichs or fish etc, just crisps and possibly some sweets like gummi bears etc

Food is fine aslong as it's consumed before you depart the aircraft as some countries have strick rules on what can be brought in. Any left overs we leave on the plane.
Should have mentioned my destination is greece so not sure what rules apply there but wont be taking too much, just enough to finish on the plane. Chocolate chip cookies allowed?

Also are power banks allowed these days on aeroplane?

The only thing I would say is to avoid paste type fillings. Or more accurately something that could look like a paste on their scanners.

If your flying from a decent size airport that has a boots or similar there they still have the meal deals and whilst more than the highstreet if you after a sarnie, and drink type thing they are still really good value.

We tend to take a few things from home with us (yep like cereal type bars) and then buy whatelse we need after security (like I said) somewhere like boots.

I avoid nuts like mentioned, too many flights someone will ask them to say could people avoid eating nuts.

I get round this by coating myself in peanut oil before any flight so I can just lick my arm if I need the nut taste ;)

As your going to the Eu basically dont take dairy and meat unless you know you will consumer or leave on the plane.

Power banks yes, but in carry on and some do limit the size/capacity.

Should be fine, just be careful what you take off the other end. Some places are very strict in what you can bring into a country.

Power banks are fine in hand luggage.

We flew with Singapore airlines a couple of years ago and my youngest hated the smell of the Asian food, so she had a large bag of doritos that she buried her head into when food was served.

Yup - we took quite a bit on our recent flight to Mexico, our son has an allergy though so we had to ensure we had alternatives on the long flight just in case. We had informed the airline prior to flying and we got a surprised pikachu face from the cabin crew on the way out. However on the way back, the head stewardess came and found us, found out all the details and was fantastic. The pilot even put out a message before we took off.

EDIT: We got randomly searched when we arrived and showed the foods, the only thing they cared about was if we had any Jerky!
