Bringing food on to aeroplane?

What are the rules regarding bringing food into airport/aeroplane? I know you cant bring liquids like drinks etc in hand luggage through secuity

Fixed for you. Feel free to take a empty bottle and fill it up after security.

Up to 20000mAh, but may depend on airline..

27,000mah is the limit (100Wh).

I personally always eat before getting on the plane.

Just come back from Jerusalem

Going out from Manchester, no liquids larger than about 100ml allowed in hand luggage or only small tubes

Coming back through tel aviv and I had big water bottles and cans of pop in hand luggage which even went through scanner and not a problem, it felt weird

The liquid restrictions have been in for 17 years now! Still see passengers claiming that they have rights to bring their 2l water, 400ml shampoo etc on the plane.

The sooner the liquids restrictions are lifted, the better. It’s s bloody cheek that airports charge £2.75 for a bottle of water post security. It’s not like a motorway where we can get off a junction and drive a mile or so to a shop in a retail park or village to get a drink for half the price to service stations.

Some posters have mentioned bring an empty bottle to fill up with water after security. Some airports, esp foreign ones don’t have a water fountain plus some countries you aren’t recommended to drink the tap water!

Many (most?) airports in the UK have a Boots airside where you can buy stuff at basically high street prices.

Slowly being lifted depends where you’re flying from.
Very interesting, thanks. Not read it fully, but I'm looking forward to not having to get laptop, tablet etc out. I often take a lot of tech with me and sometimes end up needing three of those trays to go through the scanners and it's a PITA!!!

depends if you think 3 quid is normal for a 49p bottle of water. Same as WHsmiths...
No, nothing like Smith's. Boots airport stores charge basically the same as the high street stores, so you should not be paying 3 quid for a bottle of water.

A whole meal deal at Boots airport stores is about four quid.

oh well i stand corrected :P

If you do resort to buying food at the airport, Boots is up to 40% cheaper than WHSmith for everything from snacks and drinks to sandwiches and fruit

im a mug

I've been on 3 holidays abroad this year and post security meal deals are about £5. I've never seen water cost that much.

Well Mrs Sexy has just said you can pay £3 for a bottle of water and sometimes they aren't included in meal deals.

I take phone, iPod (better battery life than music on a phone. Bring them back Apple), Kindle and two power packs. Some airports insist I take these out of my bag and remove my Fitbit.

Always worn slip on trainers since getting my laces caught in the moving walkway at Prague airport not realising and smacked my face on the metal plate at the end. Nasty bruise on chin.
