You've forgiven the Nazis?Forgiveness takes time.
My grandad fought in both WW1 and WW2. He hated Germans, wouldn't speak to them.
His son (my dad) didn't really like Germany, would never choose to go on holiday there, but would take a German individual at face value as long as they were young enough not to have fought.
Me, no problems with Germany at all. Spent time there working, had some great experiences.
It takes time.
You've forgiven the Nazis?
The main people responsible for the German WW2 attrocities were tried and punished after the war.
They're still hated now as much as ever. As will Putin's regime be.
39 , 87 to 93, in Sennelager (after Pirbright and Larkhill)Same here, which regiment 5, 32 or 39?
There does seem to be a growing momentum. Hope so anyway.a lot of captured prisoner videos popping up in the last week reminds me of Kharkiv all over again
I got to 39 in 1996 till 201339 , 87 to 93, in Sennelager (after Pirbright and Larkhill)
Like the previous poster says, it takes a couple of generations for tensions to die down. As a rule when you get to the point where >50% of the people alive ion country X are too young to remember what country Y did to their country and have only heard about it that's the point where tensions ease off. We saw this with Germany (WW1/2), with France (Napoleonic wars), etc. Poland and Russia would have probably been friends again in a decade or two if Russia hadn't shown it's true colours here.Like Poland have forgiven Russia?
^ This guy get's it ^Forgiveness takes time.

Germany changed, Russia won't.
Yes it really is so little, that's the spending power of the US militarya lot of it is just old stockpiled gear that would be disposed of (which can be expensive).
Problem is that unit took huge losses at the start of the war, so it's been padded with new recruits.![]()

Really stupid, both my Battery and Regiment dont exist anymore. 20th Feb 2015, so angry.
A couple? its been 70 years and no one has ever forgiven the NAZIS, I know not all Germans are Nazis but when you think of WW2 you think Nazis. Its going to take a couple of generations for Ukrainians to forgive Russia for this.
Learn to separate the regime from the nation. You can still forgive a nation whilst holding well placed hatred for the regime that was in control at the time.A couple? its been 70 years and no one has ever forgiven the NAZIS
Did you ever get to play with the 8 inch guns?Yeah, being the HQ bty, it was always going to be one of the first from 39s disbandment to go into suspended animation

I see Putin as Hitler in this war no different, brutal executions, kidnapping kids on a grand scale, war crimes to keep the Hague open for another 40 years
Two generations wont even be close.
