if your planning to use both eps 8 pins to power the cpu then your gonna be 1 gpu cable short, if you just have 1 eps to the cpu power then it'll be ok

temped by the shift not long ago, took delivery of a dark power pro 12 1500w today, my overclocking antics were causing problems with my strix 1000w i did have

I got a nice QN90B going to waste and only 8ft away from my PC and was thinking of hooking it up to my Nitro+ via HDMI.
Is there any limitations if I was to buy a decent 2.1 cable around 5 meters in length?

I was previously having some issues with (very!) occasional flickering on my 7900xt pulse with 5m HDMI to my TV, although it seems to have improved a lot with subsequent driver releases and I haven't noticed the issue recurring at all since the latest driver (23.8.2). I'd say it'd be worth the cost of a cable to find out for sure! You can get fiber optic based cables for as little as around £30, which should in theory have no issues at that length.
I'm only running 60hz on the TV, so if you do give it a go I'd be interested in how it handles higher refresh rates and/or using freesync - My TV supports neither but might be a consideration if I upgrade in the next couple of years.

sadly i am banned for being an idiot ( bumped my ad ) more than 3 occasions so perma ban :'( else i would have put it up for a bargain - I've since changed my order of the 7900xtx MSI to a Power color red devil as i saw the cooler isn't quiet to spec, I've to return a 7600 gpu unused also lmao.. oh well! I hope this card fine wines and overtakes the 4090
Any recommendations of a cable capable of a 120/144Hz signal? Fibre or other.

The one I'm currently using (fibre) is "GeoHN.G 8K Fiber Optic HDMI Cable 5M" (I'm sure you can guess where from!), it's currently a smidge under £25.
Before that I had bought a (copper) "Thsucords 8K 4K HDMI Cable 5M", which seemed just as good and is currently £16
Both are advertised as 48gbps so should do 8K@60Hz, 4K@120Hz,144Hz etc.
(as I said, I think the issues I was having were driver rather than cable quality)
Just been browsing and I have found them, all I need is 1440p at 144Hz and this would be plenty for my sim rig.
Here is the "White Devil" - just noticed as I have uploaded the pic I must have knocked the cable to one of my fans whilst I had it out as its clearly not spinning! I have the cable extension arriving tomorrow so will get it sorted then.
Nice rig, I'd love that card but I just can't bring myself to spend a grand on a graphics card.
Had a strange driver related issue this morning, first time coming across it with my 7900XT.
Fired up my PC, I always only use my primary monitor for the first few hours of the morning and tend to only switch my second monitor on after a few hours - but as soon as I did everything all went very odd, the second monitor kept flickering and I had an error from Adrenalin that wouldn't let me launch the program and the screen defaulted to 1024x768.
Did a quick restart which didn't fix anything (turn it off and on again...) - so uninstalled the AMD drivers and Adrenalin - then reinstalled and things have been fine since then.
Not sure what I did differently to normal. My main monitor is 1440p 180hz, second monitor is 1080p 240hz (although I run it at 120hz) and up until today I've never had any issues. I had it with my previous 3070 where running both monitors would crank the fans on the GPU and occasionally I'd have to switch the monitor off and on again - but never anything where I've needed to reinstall display drivers.
Has anyone else had anything similar?

That it's best to connect the GPU (7900XTX) to 3 separate power cables. I have a Corsair RM1000 (a couple of years old). I have as with the 3080 used 2 cables they each have 2 connections. Could this be what is causing (undervolting) random driver crashing. It will be fin for days then, crash.

Splitting the power cables is probably ok on a low end cards. For more power hungry cards like the 7900XTX yes it would be a good idea to run 3 separate power cables. As for your crashing you need to start with a stable (high) undervolt and then work down in small increments until its not stable.

I think I have a stable undervolt, play for days. Then crash driver errors, and reset to standard settings.

I currently have only been playing DMZ. It would be fine for day's. Then just crash, it's not temps as they are quite good. I have yet to play Starfield enough for it to crash.
