Download the DLSS mod, runs a lot better with it enabled.
Not CPU bound at all for me (12700K) at 3440x1440.
Entirely GPU bound, not sure why this keeps getting said.
I'm not really seeing that much difference in performance,just looks a bit better with less shimmering

Also, are you turning the resolution down to at least 70% in game, and making sure FSR is still enabled while using the DLSS mod?

The game runs like a potato. No game should really be released so badly optimised. To get acceptable 60fps I need to lower the red to 60%.... Unacceptable on a 3090 at 4k

I'm going to try this again today, and put more emphasis on heading out and exploring.
The intro section is pretty good with the space pirates on the facility, but then you get dumped in New Atlantis and a lot of the local missions seem to be fetch quest types.
I'm also going to max out stealth/pick pocketing and just see if I can steal my credits more than anything

Mines a 3080Ti which has similar performance,and even 1440p with DLSS struggles to stay at 60fps
Yea I found this as well, was thinking the game is pretty meh based on first few hours, it does pick up and I'm really enjoying it now, that part is a real trawl.
Yea it's not really right that a last gen GPU at its price point struggles that much. It's almost like they do it on purpose to encourage you to buy the 4090

I encountered the floating character bug last night.
In a firefight with some baddies (*i don't discriminate between factions) and noticed the boss character was floating 6 foot in the air.
This was very convenient as I just walked under him, where he apparently couldn't see me, and shot him to bits.
Not a bug: a feature.

On Akila I managed to recruit 4 new members of my ship whikst in the bar and they were overheatlring my initial convo with someone, and then I assigned them roles (all seem to be frontier???) - I'm assuming then that they will then automatically get to work as things need doing out in space during battle?
My crew vary in skills from weapons to engineering so should be able to repair my crap in the heat of SPACE BATTLE?

OK it seems I've turned into a bit of an idiot ... I installed a dlss mod and got no fps improvement but the game did look slightly better. Uninstalled and tried a different mod. Same results. Normally if I use dlss quality I get a noticeable increase in fps but no noticeable loss in image quality. So wtf am I doing wrong.
Currently Dynamic resolution ON
Render resolution scale 66%
Upscaling FSR2 (ie dlss due to mod)
Sharpening 80%

Anyone here completed the "Overdesigned" quest, for Stroud shipbuilding? I've got something weird going on.
Basically, I've done everything - given them all the feedback, completed the missions, done all of the things required and it says speak to Walter Stroud.. However, when I select "show on map" under missions, it's not showing me where it is. I went back to the lodge to speak to him, and it just says "this individual is busy" I slept for 24 hours to make sure there wasn't a timer, and restarted - and it's still the same..
I even went back to the station to see if there's anything I've missed, but it's clearly all done and it just wants me to speak to him - but I either can't find him, or when he did show up - he was busy..

Ya Hammy Joor, I litterally have one gold weapon I just got from doing a quest.....How...just how????

I've read to turn dynamic resolution off, and sharpening will have no effect, as that applies to FSR.

I killed the pirate captain from the first quest and got a gold gun from him. Is that a random drop? I successfully negotiated a peaceful resolution first, for the xp!
Must be a random drop, I got a rare gun I think.
