I've sold the other Rolls Royces, and this is the only one left, mainly because it was in by far the worst condition. Over the last couple of months, it's had an issue where it would start and immediately die. I haven't had time to look at it myself, but I had various supposedly experienced mechanics check it over, they all agreed that it was fuel related, so we had the carbs rebuilt which did absolutely nothing. I got tired of it sitting at the back of our land and after watching a few episodes of Vice Grip Garage, thought I'd swap out the coil, as it seemed to solve a similar issue on a 60s American car he was fixing up, and I happened to have a good one lying around from one of the other cars I'd sold.
Changed it myself on Thursday, took it for a 2hr drive today to get dinner and a few drinks and it did great. Not bad for a notoriously unreliable car that's almost 50 years old.
