Show Us Your Motors!

I've sold the other Rolls Royces, and this is the only one left, mainly because it was in by far the worst condition. Over the last couple of months, it's had an issue where it would start and immediately die. I haven't had time to look at it myself, but I had various supposedly experienced mechanics check it over, they all agreed that it was fuel related, so we had the carbs rebuilt which did absolutely nothing. I got tired of it sitting at the back of our land and after watching a few episodes of Vice Grip Garage, thought I'd swap out the coil, as it seemed to solve a similar issue on a 60s American car he was fixing up, and I happened to have a good one lying around from one of the other cars I'd sold.

Changed it myself on Thursday, took it for a 2hr drive today to get dinner and a few drinks and it did great. Not bad for a notoriously unreliable car that's almost 50 years old.

Better initial bite and heat dissipation. The hooked/grooved gap also allows dissipation of gasses that form a barrier between the pad and disc (similar to drilled disks bit without the cracking issues they can suffer when pushed hard), Hooked are also less noisy than grooved apparently. Least that how I read/understand it. (I'm sure there is someone here more knowledgeable that could go in to greater detail/correct me if wrong)

They also look better than the stock plain discs.

I wonder how many takes it took to get the right amount of head bobbing

One of my all time favourite films, maybe nostalgia of life, age at the time it was out contributes but loved it.
If you cut down the transition a bit more and looped it, it'd work very well to DnB etc hahaha!

Yep, I mean who doesn't love the jdm car scene/drifting/japan/terrible acting/the real DK Keiichi Tsuchiya actually doing 90% the drifting/driving for real without cgi/nonsense like America etc does - lol PW had to have 'training' to do that tiny handbrake stop in the R34 in 2F2F when he pulls to a stop to meet the crowd after the race

Think it’s going to get re-watched over Christmas.

I’ll be glad to see Nina again, oh and of course all the car shenanigan’s :p

"I don't need a computer to tell me about my throttle response!" Yes you do love, that's part of mapping a car and one of the functions of a 'stand alone ECU' ;)

She's lovely though, it's mad she was in that Bruno Mars video too.

Bought a secondary car. It's crazy the prices/mileage over here, but just have to do what you can. This thing is immaculate though. Certainly not something you can say about most 15yr old, 200,00 mile cars in Spain. The seller had even re-upholstered the steering wheel and i don't think there's a scratch either inside or out. It will not stay like this!

Not particularly exciting, but it's huge inside, has a tow bar and roof rack ready. It also does about 2.5x the mpg of the Jeep!

New car for going to the shops in.

2016 981 Boxster S. 28K miles. GT Silver.

Pretty close to unicorn spec (sorry about acronyms):

PSE
PASM
PDLS
PDK
Bose
Sports Chrono
Extended leather
Sport seat plus (heated)
PCM with CarPlay retrofit
GTS rear lights
Climate control
Folding mirrors

It’s immensely anti social with PSE, and I bloody love it. 6 cylinders of normally aspirated filth.

@MrRockliffe - That's a fabulous thing. Somebody ticked all the boxes on that one! Front and rear boot for the shopping as well!

Yeah pretty much! Only things I would have added are: auto dimming mirrors; electric seats with memory; ventilated seats.

The Burmester system would have been great but honestly the engine noise is loud enough that I don’t think I would appreciate it enough.

The front boot (froot) is surprisingly useful as well! Especially as I reverse into most spaces.
