Recommend some indie games since 2008ish

I've been gaming for about 25 years but somehow I've avoided playing pretty much any indie games since they became a (mainstream) thing. I'm looking to fix that in 2024 and have come up with a chronological list of indie games that appear on "best of" lists each year. I'm planning on doing one...

Civ 6 100% worth it.

Huge value as well as you can literally play the game for 1000's of hours.

Just grabbed NFS Heat for £3.

Worth a punt and was sold by someone saying it plays a bit like Burnout Paradise...

Yes... make sure you get the anthology edition as vanilla civ6 is a bit weird (and has some comical moments in it). My play time if from 2018 I think, well worth the cash
 
I didnt even realize trine 5 was out till i saw it on offer, grabbed that & ballisticng, which is finally after probably trying damn near every other clone on the market, the closest thing to wipeout 2097.

generally give anything a try, but ideally love somthing that combines god of war+oydessy
but found nothing

or somthing like sleeping dogs that is not crap (tried and hate yakuza games)

i think the big problem is im got most AAA games want somthing new but finding nothing at a good deal.

Are Digital Foundry just nitpicking when they say Jedi Survivor on PC is totally broken? Would a casual like me even notice when I regularly put up with hitches, stuttering and tearing on my 1070. :D
 
Had a little splurge on Superhot, The Witness, Mass Effect Legendary Edition, Catherine, Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order Deluxe Edition and Sackboy. Still going to treat myself to another couple of games - Aliens and The Last of Us Pt 1.

Looking to pick up Perilous Warp (played the demo before),
but with so many other games and mods, it's not like I'm needing something fresh.

Price is very good, though.
