******Official Star Citizen / Squadron 42 Thread******

Well we saw them in the last sq42 trailer. They look good and apparently they did new mo caps for the game up in Manchester
The mocap with their movement and facial movement is fine but it is tracked to the model they have from 9yrs ago with it just updated textures wise etc as they have updated the tech.

What beginning to concern me is that we are nearly 1 quarter of the way through the year and other than Pyro play sessions none of us have seen anything from last years Citizencon yet.
Today is only the 52st day of the year. We're NEARLY 1/7th into the year, thats hardly approaching a quarter of the year (122 days).

As for the stuff we saw during Citcon, we know a ton of it is coming in the next patch, which is the first patch of the year. Its not later than expected, so i really dont see what justifies any doom & gloom about stuff not being in game yet.

That is true. 3.23 is basically the citcom patch.

They are going to try and add the new engineering gameplay but in arena commander experimental mode

I'm really looking forward to the engineering stuff as someone who likes crewing rather than flying it should give me something to do.

It's going to be buggy, Lackluster, Terrible and then over the course of 5 years CIG will say "Oh we've got so many teams working on it... honestly, It's going to be great and totally come out soon™ we're super serial, Totally going to come out soon™... super serial...".

:D

Every time I think I'll have another quick lok at the current state of affairs I have to download several GBs of updates. By the time it's finished my ardour has subsided... doing it once again now.
Want to try out my new 4080 super to see what the performance is like nowadays.

New patch just dropped last night

This ship was worked by over 100 people and will offer pplenty of gameplay opprtunities that rival some fully fledged games...

Also there is something groundbreaking cooking in the tech preview channel.....

In context of large fighting ships. Which don't exist anymore.

USS Missouri: 270 Meters
IJN Yamato: 263 Meters
KMS Bismarck: 252 Meters
HMS King George V: 227 Meters

Aegis Idris: 242 Meters.

An article based off a Reddit post. I can't wait for AI to replace those people writing that trash if it's not already.

Yeah it's non-news. A bunch of people who worked for CIG couldn't move to work at the new Manchester studio and at home working was not an option so they were laid off and will be replaced. It's not exactly news worthy.

I like the Cutter one, if you can hold off though you may get a better deal in a week or two when Stella Fortuna (around St Particks day) happens - or it may at least be a little green paint kit for the ship, it can be a bit random. Edit: just noticed the cutter is currently reduced, so it may not drop again.

All starter packs are basic ships but Cutter allows you to do a little more than the rest and it's a recent addition so it's a very polished ship with a bed (bed logout/login) and a little cargo. I'd suggest sticking with the cheaper ones though as once you go up to Avenger, you get close to Cutlass. They are priced to tempt you to "just throw the extra £20 at this one".

Cutter will get you started, play with a group of OCUKers and you'll quickly have money to buy ships in-game that allow you to solo money like the Vulture etc.

Cutter allows you to do bunker missions (combat) and small delivery missions both of which will give a bit of cash each time and allow you to get use to flight, navigation etc.
