NVIDIA 4000 Series

And back on topic..

So, my 4070 Super has just arrived and I'm all up and running. First new card in 5.5 years. I'm feeling brave and would like to play around with that Unreal Matrix Awakens demo. Anyone know of a reliable download for a pre-built exe now Epic is no longer offering it? I can see a few builds based off newer Unreal Engine releases, but obviously don't want to download anything dodgy. Any kosha links?

Just found this, It includes DLSS and you play as Neo instead of generic woman #37239 -

Got it from this fellow, He's been doing benchmark videos on the tube for years now -

FYI once you load the demo you'll see matrix code everywhere, Run up to 1 of the big white cubes and go through it to enter the matrix city.

Earliest will be October so still 6-7 months away. For me personally though the 4090 will be my last Nvidia card. I need to start putting money into things for my future, Not just things that put images on a screen :D

This, Plus money has to go towards important things from now on, Can't really build a future with a family if I'm playing video games.

I'll still keep an eye on stuff though and likely slowly transition to lower end hardware.

Am going save these quotes for when games like GTA 6 gets released

Honestly I've been gaming less and less the last few years, All the RT focused games I fire up for like 2 minutes, Say "oh...shiny... yay..." then close them. Realistically everything I do, Mainly WoW and FFXIV, Could be done easily on a last gen mid range card, And even my play time is getting more and more sparse.

Also the pricing has gotten really really stupid.

About 12 to 18 months ago i bought a PS5 & Xbox series X (Plus a 2TB m.2 for each of them) and I haven’t even played a single game on any of them yet :o

I think I'm just genuinely gamed out. I think I know how Kaapstad feels now too when he decided to call it quits with the PC hobby, And he was the guy around here for absurd overkill rigs. But for me it's gaming overall, Just got no drive anymore.

Should've been priced at 2.99 or 3.99 at worst really, I was shocked when I saw the actual price after reading the email they sent out.

Have to be really desperate for some gaming time and stuck on a bad laptop/tablet to resort to paying it up, (granted I actually don't mind geforce now) and have recommended it to friends who don't want to spend the extra to upgrade their old pc's for the odd game or two we can play together.

Yep. I have a Series X for when I have the gaming itch. Ten mins on that and I’m done.

PC gaming for me is done.

And I feel the exact opposite, never been a better time to be on PC imo, most of the console exclusives now release on PC as well or release eventually :) I used to be a console only gamer for most of my life as well.. but I feel the quality seperation much more now with frame rates and resolution jumps on PC.

I do go through the stages of gaming/not gaming have done for 15+ years though. Might hardcore binge for 3 or 4 months every night then touch nothing for months.

I know the feeling. 5800x3d and 4080 so not quite at your level. Actually every day I don't game on it I think to myself that is some of value lost. Just struggle to find the time with doing loads of overtime (to be able to afford said things lol) and having a 2 year old.

I can relate. It just feels like an effort. I don't know if it's me or the fact that gameplay mechanics have become very heavy on the grind. Probably a combination of both. I think maybe the QA issues around a lot of new releases annoys me as well, to the point I think to myself "I'll play that when it's fixed" and it either doesn't get fixed or I've lost interest by that point anyway.

I also do a lot of overtime and that the only way i can afford to buy my expensive toys like my PC & motorbike

With my PC am sure i just like having a very high end one so if i ever want to play any games it sitting there all ready to go
(I.E if off work sick or just bored, Or the latest AAA title am interested in gets released etc )

Or it just mainly boils down to i just love wasting tons of money i don't have unless i do lots of overtime on stuff i no need

Are you me? Apart from the motorbike, that is very relatable. Actually contemplating upgrading from to ab AM5 platform in near future, yet my current rig is used mainly as a media server and Web browser.
