Gigabyte X570 Aorus Master Owners

I usually update immediately to every new bios but everything is working great atm so will fight the urge and not update.

"If it ain't broke, don't fix it"... but we're all geeks here, so that mantra means nothing to us, we like to break stuff :D. After my last experience however, I will happily wait until GA (and I will always keep a backup of the previous release!)

AMD / security issues and new AM4 CPU's, still shocked they are knocking out new AM4 after 5800x3d.

Still getting updates. Been a good platform.

Think I’ll go cheaper on my next mobo though. Got a year or two left on my 5800x3d based on what we do though.

I use this mobo for my simrig.

Rehomed it in a different case and missed the opportunity to replace the fan.

My PCH fan make a noise on startup now, bearings I guess, but I have it on silent as with everything water cooled there isn’t much heat dumped into the case.

I don’t think I can get to the fan without pulling the mobo out, but wondered if there was a solid trick to pull power from it entirely, as I don’t think it gets to 55.

You could try Fan Control software to slow down or stop the fan. https://getfancontrol.com/

You have to strip the motherboard down to get to the fan.

Thanks mate.
I’ve put it on silent in the bios and max so far on the sim rig is 67c.

Will run it til it decides to become annoying in actual use rather than switch on and then go for the removal to disconnect it.
I was hoping it was possible to hook the cable under the heat sink and pull it out, but don’t think you can get to it.

Wonder if the chipset fan just needs new thermal paste? (if/when you decide to get at the fan)
Yeah when I said noise I mean not just the noise of a normal fan. It’s proper scrapping sound of failed bearings.

I do have a loop I could put the chipset under Tbf. Not sure which models fit or are still available.

The only thing I'm starting to regret is not buying the X570S (passive) version, however I'm not even sure it was available when I first purchased my board.

I fixed it. had to do this to make the bios redo ACPI:
1. backup bios settings to USB
2. reflash F39, boot back to bios
3. Load optimised defaults, load settings from USB
4. boot to windows and it was fixed
