We have had ours on quite a few times over the past month as it's been pretty cold up here with a Northerly/North Easterly wind and have been well down into single figures. Wednesday night we had our first frost of the year as it got down to -1.2 degrees C. That's very early this year.

Ah yes, I forgot that we are in that time of year on here - where people will prove how "hard" they are by not having their heating on whilst their home sits at 12°C internally and slagging other people who have turned their heating on :rolleyes: :cry:

Mine has clicked on a couple of times including this morning - modern very well insulated home but its been about 7°C overnight and due to drop to 2°C this week :eek:

I'm not trying to prove how "hard" I am by not having the heating in. It's just plain common sense to me. Right now the weather doesn't call for the heating to be on - if anything, I still keep the windows open during the day. Any slight chills can be dealt with both easily and economically.

I'd say if you need to put the heating on at 12c, you are either old, have a medical issue or just a wuss in general :cry:
Or just have a low cold tolerance I guess?

Its 8c where I am outside but inside is sitting at 20c which I find too warm. Nothing is on just heat from me I guess.

Although I'm that guy in tshirt and shorts outside when it's freezing with ice/snow while most people are in the thick coats.

You criticise people for putting their heating on when it’s 12C in their home while sitting in a house where the temperature is 20C? Makes perfect sense…

While everyone has different tolerances, I don’t think it’s healthy to let your home temperature drop too low as it encourages dampness in the house amongst other things. I don’t let my house temperature drop below 14C during the six months from September.

I can fix at 5.38p/kwh. Has it been much under that?

If your local weather means it is warm to not have the heating on then what I said doesnt apply. It was aimed at the people like the below comments:

I'm guessing you mean tracker as there is no agile for gas? I'm sticking with tracker for Gas for now but thats because i'm still on Dec 2023 pricing which is averaging 4.74p over the past month. On the Oct 2024 pricing its basiclly the same as your fix at 5.29p over the last 30 days

I never saw that post and I agree with you that 12c is a tadge on the cold side for inside a house. I dread to think how bad that is for a house.

I've just re-read the post from @MatsyLR and I think they are referring to outside temperatures of 12c, not inside. To be fair, 20c is a temperature I'd find comfortable indoors.
