@Gibbo how do orders for the CPU work that included another product that is now out of stock? For example I ordered the CPU with a Crosshair X870E Hero which was in stock when I placed the order but is now out of stock presumably due to today's launch. Has the one in my order been reserved for me at this point?

Also I guess depends on if the mobo comes in before your CPU is ready to ship - What time did you place your order?

My order was at 14:07 and the site told me everything would wait to dispatch until the CPU was in stock. I had assumed that meant the mobo was "held" for me since it was in stock when I placed the order.

You should be in the first round for the CPU then (some time next week from what @Gibbo has said), CS will be able to confirm if you got the motherboard before they sold out

Just an enquiry, AMD have done game bundles with new product launches in the past. Also, don't you mean "be glad OcUK didn't price it higher?"
AMD have previously 'done' game bundles when they needed to add value to a proposition that wasn't entirely compelling in its own right i.e. they were worried [insert thing you want to sell] wasn't going to sell well enough at their specified pricepoint.

As soon as the reviews dropped, that was never going to be an issue for ther 9800X3D, hence no need to throw money away by offering buyers game keys as a bribe.

Don't know why people are rushing to buy...
In my case, a shift in work focus. Workstation is currently using a 5950x, 128G RAM and it's been an absolute rock over the last 4 years. I skipped Zen 4 in part because there seemed to be a lot of folk dealing with DDR5 issues early on and a lack of large capacity kits. Had I stayed in my last role role I would likely have been eyeing up a Threadripper system instead...

Got more time in the evenings now, new job etc so I can enjoy a little bit more gaming, don't need a workhorse! This is a really nice CPU, probably the first one I've seriously considered buying in 4 years. I don't get the upgrade itch that often any more, but when I do... ;)

Video of a 9800X3D de-lidded, then de-constructed. Clearly shows the v-cache die (gold) being peeled off the CCD (blue)

All very good but sorry if this sounds stupid but why waste a good CPU only to see what AMD has already told you that the V-Cache is under the CCD.

With an in-demand product such as this I'd always create a separate order for it as other items may go out of stock etc. You'll be waiting til all items are in stock before shipping more than likely.

Probably one of the best CPU launches in a while from a point of view of people eager to buy it.
When/If I move onto AM5 it'll probably be the CPU of choice.
I think people were just fed up with all the underwhelming PC hardware launches lately so when finally a decent product shows up everyone wants a piece of it.

I must admit I didn’t think it would be this popular and I wonder how it would have gone had 7800X3D had stayed around £300 instead of being jacked back up to launch prices over the past couple of months.
