I watched Mr Worthabuy having a wander around KCD2 and was struck about how much it looks like the first one (which is fine by me as it looked lovely) so hopefully it's just an enhanced engine rather than a new one.

It is running on Cryengine like the first one. But their own customized. They actually co-operated with Crytek to create new DX12 renderer.
Main improvements are in better facial animations, volumetric clouds, better SVOGI and better LoD.

The first one already looked brilliant, as long this new one solves some of the major performance issues then it doesn't have to look dramatically better.
 
The game is facing a bit of drama now

All was well until Saudi Arabia announced the game was banned from sale there. Reason for the ban? The game has an unskippable scene involving two male knights having gay sex

Since then the steam forums have been flooded with angry mobs

All manufactured. Saudi did not announce anything, it all came from random twitter post. People are too easily manipulated these days..
Not to mention, making judgements about anything based on Saudi moral standards is...ehm, suspect.

I'm confused why anyone in the developed world gives a **** about the opinion of that backwards hellhole? :p

Screenshots about look awesome, only a few weeks to go now - I didn't get into the first initially, but went back to it after a couple of years, and got completely hooked and ended up smashing my way through it, looking forward to this :D
 
Never played the first one but after reading up on it and watching a load of vids on YouTube, I’m very interested in this.

Looks amazing and they looked to have nailed the medieval setting and atmosphere bang on, just not sure I’ve got 80+ hours to sink into it :p
