** Kingdom Come : Deliverance 2 **

I loved KCD, I've never been a full on gamer, but I spent around 70-80hrs in that game. Didn't complete it, was at the point that some castle/town was under siege as I recall, think that was pretty deep into the storyline. I'm really digging Stalker 2 at the moment, completely different feel/setting of course, but it's a similar genre. Doing quests, looting places, improving your kit. KCD has much more to do with reputation, and also the need to learn things like lock picking.

I get the criticism of KCD about the fighting, I never played fast fighting style games and so the whole combo thing was lost on me too. I only ever manged to train up so far in the fighting.

Looking forward the KCD2 and I have a much better rig than when I had KCD, and I had to run with very low graphics settings.

From what I read KCD2 runs better than KCD1, so with your current rig you should be more than fine.
And yeah you were pretty far in the story. I would suggest at least watching the KCD "movie" Warhorse uploaded if you do not want to do a replay.
I didn't play KDC1 as it reviewed poorly.
Most negative reviews were due to bugs, which have been fixed. It got 76 on MC and 83 on steam, which I don't consider too bad.

RDR2 is in my TOP3 games of all time.
I played KCD1 year after RDR2. It also entered my TOP3 (next to RDR2 and Witcher 3).

Yes, KCD has worse facial animations and animations in general. That's what happens when your budget is 18 million USD and not 400 million USD. But in regards to atmosphere and immersiveness, I could not disagree more. KCD (on hardcore mode in particular) is just as immersive, if not more. The world, the lighting, the NPC life routines, the gameplay mechanics (stuff like drinking having its own skill tree, having to learn to read..). And most of all - KCD actually gives player lot agency in its quests. You can do things in all kinds of ways and the game does not hand hold you.

In RDR2, as much as I love it, you get a "game over" screen if you park your horse a meter from where designer intended. I am not exaggerating, this literally happens. Every main mission is pretty much 100% linear. It has ton of insane detail in its open world, but its systems and mission design are unfortunately very restricted.

Yeah. That is why I could not get on with RDR2. KCD much better game imo.

For me if a game is in the 70s I generally pass.

I get that some games review poorly on launch due to technical issues.

It's a shame it tarnishes the game like that.

More to it than that.

I dont like that you can't save game where ever you want you die and you have to start a long sequence leading to a mission over and over. Meh.
Yea I get that. But the game is excellent.

I mean it's a cowboy game. It's meant to be loooongggg.....

Yep. Great game, one of my favourites which is why I put up with all the annoying stuff

KCD I came to the party late, so it had been patched up and I had to mod in quicksaving (the potion thing was rlly annoying).

Henry is coming in two days! Jesus Christ be praised!

RDR2 was a fantastic game interactive movie. A little horse shenanigans shouldn't have put you off at all.

FTFY :p

Highlighting another game's bugs and bad design decisions as a means of defending KCD is... bold
