I think there are some "good prices" right now. I've just bought:
Whisky Exchange - Clynelish GoT version for £33.95
Douglas Laing - Big Peat Sherry Storm for £37.50 & Big Peat Christmas Edition Sherry for £35.00

Thanks ordered the Clynelish, seems a good price, never tied it myself though.

That is a shame. Though I've never bought a bottle, as each time I've gone to go and buy one I've been completely lost at the choices plus the relatively high price tag for an unknown, unaged entity.

May I ask which ones you tried and your likes/dislikes?

Just had a peruse of their website and it all comes across as vacuous and waffle heavy. Naming their offerings things like 'Biodynamic' and 'Organic Gaia' and descriptions like this:

Eccentric to some, regenerative to others, Biodynamic agriculture goes beyond the ordinary ecological mindset. Drawing upon ancient lore of lunar cycles & exotic preparations, it seeks to charge soils with vitality & barley with vibrancy.

Practised by the most visionary & curious, we too are ..

I've nothing against trying something new, but it's no surprise that a company is going to struggle if it waffles on like that while including no age statement, no mention of barrel type, no description of any substance whatsoever.
 
i had a bottle of Johnnie Walker black label malt at Xmas that i quite enjoyed.
ive never tried Irish whiskey before so decided to order a bottle of Slane Triple Casked Irish Whiskey thats currently on offer at the big place. the reviews are quite promising.
 
Managed to bag myself a BNJ finally, for only £40 as well. Had my eye on this for a while, but I think I want to keep one and drink one, so the hunt is on for another.

Also bagged a couple of other bottles to try.

Picked up an Ardbeg 10 the other week for Burns night, £51. My first Ardbeg and quite impressed so far. Wanted a new bottle of Lagavulin 16 but its gone back up to ~£80 a bottle at the moment cant seem to find any decent deals on it. bearing in mind I'm sure I paid £60 a bottle this time last year. I'll wait!

Ardbeg 10 is a class dram. Not trying to do anything too clever, just really nicely made whisky with big flavour.
 
I was just gifted a bottle of Johnnie Walker Blue Label.

Never been much of a Whisky guy, but I'll let you know my thoughts. And I'll try to be a little more descriptive than "yep, that's whisky".
 
Bagged a few payday bottles. Been recommended the Cragganmore Distillers Edition and the other two seemed a good deal

Can't go wrong with Blue Label. JW is a mass market whisky so tries to appeal to all and sundry which is no bad thing. It's a nice easy drink. Too easy, I'd say - just watch how much you consume :D
 
Not long finished a bottle of The Balvenie Doublewood, very nice, would love another in the near furture. Does this ever appear in supermarket deals? £50 a bottle is a lot (to me).
