NVIDIA RTX 50 SERIES - (PRE)ORDER DISCUSSION **NO COMPETITOR HINTING**

I'm 138 in a queue for a 5090, it's gone down from about 148. I guess people are cancelling orders? It's a lot of money to be sitting in someone else's bank account for a while.

It does feel a bit crap having my 5090 money sat with OCUK and no ETA on when I'll see the card right now.

The only positive I'm taking from it is, the delay may at least mean less issues with drivers/cables when it finally arrives. Will have to wait and see there lol.

Still keeping an eye on alerts while waiting though to see if I can get something a bit quicker, without going to the extremes of that stupid £3k MSI Trio...

Interesting video… The MSI 5080 Gaming Trio is not that great for the current asking price, glad I didn’t order it.
I rather not take the opinion of some with echo chamber like membership.

The gaming trio is a lot better than he makes out to be and overclocks just as well as the astral. Doesn’t sound like a vacuum cleaner and is a lot cooler once you set up an appropriate fan curve. While significantly cheaper.

Yes but the other site aren't complaining as they are probably making £2 - £3k a day in interest from all the pre-orders.
I will cancel my pre-order end of month if I haven't moved to near the front of the queue - I am 60 for the Zotac 5090 Solid.

Also expect numbers to drop after next week (24th onwards) considerably as the CNY finishes.

Well, Astral 5090 is now the best 5090 IMO, following the fan speed fix and the fact it's the only GPU that will alert you if you have a dodgy cable!

It was always the best looking to me, just let down by the insane noise of the 4th fan. With BIOS update this is now nice and quiet :)

Will still pickup a 5090 FE if I get the chance though!

I'd hope it's the best if you paying between a £800 - £1000 premium over msrp...

OCUK have advised me they are NOT informing customers of pre-order que status

very bad as all the other sites are updating customers

Also this opens up the allocation to abuse, someone could be in a que for 3 months where OCUK will then decide to sell elsewhere not prioritising que customers, not happy at all and bad service for loyal customers

I think all it does is flag an issue if you have their software running… GPU software is a bit of a bloatfest in my experience, so it comes at a price and who knows how often you need to monitor it manually. If the whole thing goes sour over the course of 10 minutes then it might not help you at all.

I’m pretty sure the Palit models also have a light that goes on if it detects an issue. Possibly less sophisticated than the ASUS solution but it possibly does a similar job… I’m not sure. Edit: as per the below post it might have been Zotac.

There isn’t really a whole heap you go can other than make sure you aren’t stressing the PC when you’re out of the room as ‘damage control’ - to pull the plug if it starts to smoke or whatever.

This sounds like a one in a million thing, but last month I did have a pipe spontaneously exploded under our upstairs floorboards and flood my kitchen so… yeah, **** unfortunately does happen and thank god I was around to catch it and not on holiday

Zotac has LED indicator of not fully fitted cable too, though it 100% won't detect that 30AMP pushing through single wire. Nothing will as far as I know.

The 5080 Solid and 5080 AMP had some fuses on for the connector. Though buildzoid commented in his board round up video he didn't think it would fully stop a failure.

I’m sure some of you have seen but the 5090 Suprim Liquid got an outstanding review by Hardware Unboxed:

Kind of wish I went for that now… :o - ejecting the air right out the case would keep my CPU cooler! Oh well :)
Be aware they are sponsored by MSI in a heavy way. ;)

Not saying the card is not good or bad, but HUB and MSI are best friends..

I've gone down 9 places on the other site since ordering a TUF 5090. Will be 3-4 months at this rate: went from 108 to 99th place.
