NVIDIA RTX 50 SERIES - (PRE)ORDER DISCUSSION **NO COMPETITOR HINTING**

So stupid they send out items like this, i know double packing is more resources. But cardboard is cheap and recyclable and adds a lot more protection from a dodgy delivery person. I ordered a, i know, prebuilt for my partner and the box came labeled with company name on the side. Anyone with any knowledge, would know its a pc inside based on the size of the box, wasnt happy it came like it, but luckily was delivered.

I'm really surprised my 5080 never got stolen. Just been delivered and it was just shipped in the branded box with a label stuck on it
well a few years ago someone ordered a 3090ti, opened up the box and was filled with a wine bottle or somthing, they couldn't establish if it was intercepted in the GPU factory, the distribution process or the courier driver pulling a fast one or it could have been a dishonest customer, in the end the retailer sent out a new order, always use credit cards for the protection.

Same, thanks to https://notify-fe.plen.io/

Wanted to move the delivery date to Sunday but was too afraid to miss it by pressing too many buttons XD
Got mine through a discord alert but did have notify fe plan running on the laptop upstairs but was downstairs when I got the notifications luckily with phone in hand

Started making progress on the Zotac solid again, gone from 104 to 101 in the last couple of days.
I am 99th in line for the Zotac Solid 5090 (If thats the one you are referring to?) I calculated that at the rate the number is going down from launch day I will get to first in line by the 23rd June. Lets hope there are larger stock shipments before then because that is painful. The worst launch in my experience.

I think the consensus is that this one is more definitively user error. There are some very, very strange things going on with his cabling, which he should definitely not be doing.
Question as someone who hasn’t upgraded a PC for a long time (I’m still running a 1070T!).

I got a new Corsair RM1000x a few weeks ago as my PSU fan was loud. I went for the 1000W in preparation for the 5000 series.

The PSU says it’s ATX 3.1 ready (PCIe 5.1 with 12V-2x6).

Should I be using the cables that came with the RM1000x to power the 5090 when it arrives, or using ones supplied with the GPU?

The guy in the post linked looks like he’s using some sort of extension?

The more this goes on, the more I want to make sure I’m doing it 100% right!

Either will work fine. The various posts, videos and so forth have been overblown and relate to third party cables used (i.e. not provided by PSU/GPU maker) and or foolish, elaborate connections by people.

Did think about getting the 5090 fe when briefly in stock. But CEX would give me approx £1,100 for my 4090, so £800 extra for 20% extra performance, not worth it.
I know can get more on the bay but they'll always side with buyer even with fake complaints.
And a new £200 PSU too, my 850w would restrict the 5090 by 5-10 %
