Good on you for having the savvy to screenshot them. Fancy sending me a copy, via DM, if you are willing please? I'm not sure OCUK would take kindly to posting an image of them on the forum here.I have screencaps of the original terms, and a lot of people (myself included) have the original order confirmation -- both were updated a few days later.
Amazing... I might DM you too for a copy if you dont mind!I have screencaps of the original terms, and a lot of people (myself included) have the original order confirmation -- both were updated a few days later.
It's a gamble, they were assuming the prices of these cards and limited supply means that the chance of the card going down are low, where as the chance of the card going up are much higher. Obviously in practice, considering there's rumours of a supply shock incoming due to lower than expected demand of AI chips, coupled with a stronger GBP, there's now a good chance that the price is indeed lower in the next few months. This is there way of squeezing out of it, by retroactively adding in terms after the deal is done and you've paid the entire full amount up front incurring that opportunity cost.I'll probably have to cite a credible source of web archiving where those terms weren't laid out when I bought mine. It looks like they updated their pre-order page with that caveat of price going up and couging up the difference.
Of course they'd say that lmao, you think they want mass cancellations and losing that sweet interest money?Spoke with customer service at The Other Place and got a flat denial that pre-build orders skip the queue. Hmmm.... what to believe?
I honestly reckon, you'd have a good legal case if they do decide to attempt to charge you more, but obviously whether that'd be worth it for the £100-200 increase or so they expect it to be, probably not.Yes. I have to agree with that. Those T&Cs were not made obvious prior to, or at, point of sale. They only became obvious after the pre-order purchase was made. Very obvious after taking our money. Makes me think there may have been a lack of up front and clear info with the T&Cs prior to checkout. It may have been there but they certainly didn't point it out so clearly during purchase as they did post purchase. Like you though, if they do try and charge more just prior to dispatch I'll certainly be doing a bit of investigation on when and how these T&Cs were introduced.
On the other hand, if the purchase price is honoured then all's good.
I can tell you that they are not saying lies about itSpoke with customer service at The Other Place and got a flat denial that pre-build orders skip the queue. Hmmm.... what to believe?
Lol yeh I saw one of the youtubers sigh at this too... giving us a chance to buy something from them. what an utter joke this launch isAnyone saw Asus advert which has this;
Be an #ROGEliteRewards member, and you'll have a chance to win access to purchase a GeForce RTX 5090 or 5080!
they have a raffle where you win a chance at BUYING a card LOL.
@asus, your company is whack.
I would get either assuming both msrp - unless have space considerations. Shame they didn't use the 5090 FE cooler on the 5080 FE as it would have had great performance at that wattage...If prices are the same would you choose a 5080 Fe or palit and why?

Oh for sure, not all prebuilts are "good" ones (as much as prebuilts are ever good)I reckon lots of places are just trying to shift Intel cpus and doing crap pre builds with a 50 series tacked on.
