Stalker 2

had my first main quest busting bug. Was told to go speak to Richter in the water tower. He shouts down at me thinking I'm monolith and then invites me up when I tell him who I am. But when I get up there, there is no "talk" icon, I can't talk to him, he just sits there smoking, drinking and eat sausage.

I went away and did a side quest, came back and still the same. went back a few saves and still the same when I get to that stage again.

Decided to just side quest in the meantime, but after a couple more side quests, tried again and suddenly I can talk to him and progress the main quest.

currently 152hrs in, and around 650 deaths !

THe only 2 things that annoy me in this game are

1) the wordwinds that you basically can't see/hear in time to avoid if your are sprinting that capture you and your health takes a hit
2) the never-end hill faces that you come across that you need to get to the other side in order to get where you are going
To be fair, stalker support came back to me, and said to go 100 metres away from Richter, and stay away for 24 in-game hrs and then come back.

I'd already got it going by chance after i filed the report, but decent of them that they do actually read the emails and respond.

I'm about 80% through the campaign but hard locked because of a bug, this is about the 5th quest now that has been completely broken. Hopefully they fix it one day.

just finished it.
171 hrs and last I remember see 760 deaths!

When they do the next major patch and include native DLSS4 etc, I'll do another run thru picking dififerent storylines towards the end.

I won't do a second playthrough until they have New Game Plus, so I can start with all my gear and whack the difficulty right up
Also hardware raytracing instead of this software Lumen s*** :)

Question, having played Stalker 2, is the original stalker a good option, or does it suffer from much poorer graphics and/or gameplay ?
Tried it recently and it looks very brown. I couldn't really get back into it as I had already finished all of them. I guess it's still holds up but the graphics are a downside.

Note that if you enable the DLSS overlay indicator, you will observe that when playing a game that has native DLSS 4 support that it shows in the bottom left "transformer model" instead of "Preset K" - What this actually means I am not sure, maybe it's just an indicator saying the game has native support whereas showing Preset K indicates an injected instance of DLSS4's new model which the user has enabled via override (profile inspector, NVapp etc).

In Indiana Jones if you turn off ray tracing then the "Transformer" indicator switches to show "Preset K" instead, so I guess Transformer being active relies on native support meanwhile when those features are not natively enabled in the game, it falls back to the injected method (Preset K).

It's only good enough once it has hardware RT IMO.

Currently using the injected Preset K and with DLSS on quality. Video quality is the same as DLAA imo as on 1440p. Gives me an extra 10-15 fps which is nice. The game for me now is the way it should have been on release in terms of bugs ect.
