*** The Official Elite: Dangerous Thread ***

My very very rarely used 2nd account(Epic free) will have about 350M credits, a full slew of pre-engineered SCO fsd drives and that pre-engineered discovery scanner, after this CG, all from the absolute minimal dip in and out effort in the last few community goals :D. This is with the account still only having the starting Sidewinder, a DBX and an Eagle and a free Vulture from another CG. The kind of free stuff this account has got is ideal for it just jetting off out in to the black and never coming back, which is why taking any advantage for a free account should be taken if you get the chance.
Heh, I do wish I'd started mine while the Cocijo CG was still ongoing. Which CG had the free Vulture, I don't remember that one?

I can't remember either, it was quite a while back that one I think. It was a good one though, I got one for my main account too as they have zero rebuy cost, so handy on a combat ship.

I just logged on to my alt acc, bought one ton of copper, flew 5 jumps to the CG system, signed up, sold my copper and that will be a minimum of 60 million in a weeks time. My main acc is in the 75% band. I transferred my T9 over so I might try to get into the top 25% band. I will also try and get both accounts on the bounty hunting one if it doesn't finish before I have time. I don't do combat but even I should be able to get a couple of bounties to get into the 100% band.

The first CG I did was a Christmas special that involved transporting rares to an outpost with a long super cruise approach. I flew missions whenever I had time for a week and earned 17m. It was considered an exceptionally generous event at the time. Kids today......

Well darn, that actually looks better than I expected :D

I will also try and get both accounts on the bounty hunting one if it doesn't finish before I have time.
They just added another big tier to the bounty hunting CG, so you've got plenty of time!

Bit annoying for people who thought they were safe in the 75% bracket with it due to complete soon, but I think it's a good thing (and should help prevent naughty CMDRs triggering lockdowns). Will have to keep an eye on it and top up contributions occasionally.

OMG OMG OMG OMG I'm so happyyyyyyy!

Assuming it's actually fixed, of course ;)
I forgot to check, have had them turned off for so long...

But holy heck! the Mandalay is sweeeeeet, finally have a replacement for my AspX though I really don't much like the wings on it, but darn is it nice to pilot.

System Colonization costs look pretty reasonable too, just don't try to build an Ocellus star port first lol :)

Okay, this year looks like it could be good for Elite too, 4 new ships coming, the first of which is a Gutamaya Corsair which looks awesome, two new features the first of which is Vanguard which is a follow on from squadrons and will allow for what appears to be a proper guild/group system with shared resources and funds.

It's really nice to see FD actually doing some decent work on Elite these days, of course I'm remaining cautiously optimistic due to prior disappointments lol.

Still gutted this wasn't full player driven single instance amazingness (basically first person EVE). Maybe this is an unrealistic expectation, but the immersion and pure experience is so good to be wasted on the scope of the game.

If FD could be bothered to enable support for more than 8 USB devices, I think I'd have another go.
Honestly I need to know why you need 8 USB's. I've got mouse, keyboard and bog standard stick so 3 usb. I can immediately see going to HOTAS requiring 2 USB's plus one for pedals takes me to 5. What are the other 3 for?

I don't need 8 for Elite. However, I have more than 8 for use in DCS and think that it's rather naff that the current solution is to unplug several.

i totally sympathise with those who were just in the 75% bracket (I have been there myself) but this is great news for me as i may actually get chance to partake in it now :)

i think that is harsh - and i say that as someone who has complained a lot to FD about some things.

but Elite dangerous is one of the best games out there for supporting multiple controllers imo. we are truly spoilt on pc. i use a HOSAS twin stick set up but have a fall back throttle to one side if needed, i then have 2 xbox pads with various controls on (admittedly that was due to me messing up i keep meaning to make a new profile with it all on 1 pad) then there is voice attack which can do other things, then finally the keyboard and mouse.

I love that elite allows you to have so many different control devices all active at the same time, not many games support this.

Might be worth getting back into this again.
all the in ship stuff even now 10+ years on is still right up there as a VR show piece

I just wish FD realised what a diamond in the rough VR title they still had. (yes we may be a small bunch but if 50% of people with a PCVR headset bought the game that is still a lot of sales!)

Thanks. I got both my CMDRs into the 100% band for both CGs. Now I will see if I can get the time to go up the ranks a bit. Not sure why as I can't think of what I would spend the extra credits on tbh.
