I don't think you're following what I'm saying. I'm not talking about it going on fire, I'm saying it's a poor connector that has no tolerance, does not respond well to bends. Compared to an 8 pin it must be completely snug. 8-pin is obviously a mature design, with larger pins and a simpler locking mechanism, and you can for the most part be as rough with it as you like.The Nitro+ at 360W (OC) has an 83% safety margin (660/360).
A 2x8 pin card at 300W power draw has basically no safety margin according to the spec, each 8 pin is rated for 150W. Although we know that 8 pin can do more than 150W without melting.
