Stalker 2

Note that if you enable the DLSS overlay indicator, you will observe that when playing a game that has native DLSS 4 support that it shows in the bottom left "transformer model" instead of "Preset K" - What this actually means I am not sure, maybe it's just an indicator saying the game has native support whereas showing Preset K indicates an injected instance of DLSS4's new model which the user has enabled via override (profile inspector, NVapp etc).

In Indiana Jones if you turn off ray tracing then the "Transformer" indicator switches to show "Preset K" instead, so I guess Transformer being active relies on native support meanwhile when those features are not natively enabled in the game, it falls back to the injected method (Preset K).
Its showing Preset C for me with DLSS V310.2.1 , just in marvel rivals as its the first game used DLSS swapper on.
Any ideas?
I thought v310 was DLSS4?

You need to use nvidia inspector app to force the preset to K. DLSS swapper will make the game use the newer version of DLSS, but all versions of DLSS has a subset of versions (presets) and frustratingly even the latest version will use an older preset in some games as you've seen.

Fair enough thanks , i just thought all i needed was DLSS swapper.

Between nvidia app, nvidia control panel, dlss swapper and nv inspector you would be bamboozeled :)

I've dragged my heals with this so. Not had time for gaming recently.

I'm at the stage of leaving the Lesser Zone. Other than fetching some stash boxes, there doesn't seem to be much else to do. I've got a couple of artifacts but nothing that seems particuarly exciting. I've got a nice sniper rifle which needs repair but I don't have enough cash. I'm just wondering if I've done all that I can for now here so it is time to move into the next zone.

You'll find you go back and forth to the zones quite often, including the lesser zone, so there is no need to worry about completing everything that is there at the very start

40 hours in and just hit the red forest. Still enjoying the game, though wish the performance was better and there was less schlepping from one side of the map to the other. Imagine my joy when I found the teleporting wormhole in Rostok!

You can fast travel between discovered settlements, just have to pay one of the guides.
Oh, that's good. I asked as I saw in one of the reviews that you need to walk everywhere and there is an option to pay for travel but it supposed to be very expensive.

Hi guys, I just started playing this on PC and was just wondering if anyone had any tips or knowledge on how to get the best performance?

I've read reviews saying the game is broken and has performance issues. Is there any fixes or specific settings I should change for best performance?

EDIT: I'm running a 5070ti and I get like 130fps but I just thought I'd ask this question as when I turn in-game something doesn't feel quite right, more so in the towns. It doesn't stutter or crash, and no screen tearing, I'm not sure what it is, but when you turn with the mouse it doesn't feel quite right.

Could this be down to the CPU issues I've seen people mention on reddit? I read that the game has CPU issues and isn't optimised very well.

Thanks.

130 fps is good going... I'm assuming that's with the settings turned down or with frame gen on? From looking at benchmarks, even a 40/5090 doesn't appear to get anywhere near 130 fps at any resolution so I'm assuming you've got frame gen on? If so, your 'real' (rendered) fps will be significantly lower and that will result in input lag, which is probably what you're experiencing.

I'm having similar issues. I've recently started playing it as well and I'm getting into it (although it's a steep learning curve!) but this game is so poorly optimised it's bottlenecking my CPU in the busy areas. I have a 7900x and whilst it's not an X3D chip with the extra vcache, it's hardly a slouch. I'm dropping down to near 40 fps at times from an average of about 65 fps (3090, 1440p, epic settings), which is kind of ruining the experience. Dropping quality settings doesn't really help, it still does it in the towns - it just lowers the load on my GPU which appears to confirm it's CPU limited in these areas.

There is no fix you can do, hardware RT needs to be added to the game which is not featured yet but was said to be coming in a future update. The usual UE5 issues with RT for now.
