Must just be that crappy Sahara dust stuff still..lol. just gave it a rinse over with a hose. As I used collinite auto wax (the proper wax) it rinsed off fine and water ran off it.

Had to clean my wheels to with a brush and some product..no matter what BMW I have had in the past they always kick out a lot of brake dust.

No my previous BMW 120 and previous 320ds were silver

This is what I mean. I gave it a snowfoam. Polish and wax around 2 weeks ago and this is the layer of stuff.

Not sure if this is the Sahara sand or from.my exhaust or brakes . It's not like that so much on rest of car .

I'll get the hose out tonight wash it off and monitor for a few days. Also may switch to using non supermarket fuel for a bit

It's just dirt and dust. The rear of a car picks up far more than anywhere else, as soon as you're on a damp road it's game over.

My car is black and looks like this picture within a day or two of washing it, usually. You're getting off lightly! Even in good weather the dust builds up pretty quickly.

Hi guys.
I'm looking at picking up a 128ti, any owners in here?
Yes indeedy, the wife has one. Decent little car with plenty of interior and boot space. A bit stiffly sprung, so not the most comfortable. The biggest con is that being FWD you get a fair amount of wheel spin and torque-steer when you give it some beans, but this may be down to the mid-range Bridgestones hers is on. I'd definitely recommend a test drive as it'd be an instant deal breaker for me as it's so annoying. You can expect low 20s mpg around town and 30-35 on a run.

The torque steer happened for me regardless of tyre brand, quite enjoyed it to be fair.

DID YOU WIPE THAT WITH YOUR HAND?!

You do know why sandpaper is called sandpaper right? And you’ve just wiped the sand, without the paper, off? :(

Good friend of mine has one after going M135 - M140 - M135, seems pretty happy with it. Didn't see the point in having the little extra power for the M.

Grey without any of the red trim, nice motor.
Ah nice! No issues then? I was tempted to M135i but doesn't seem worth it really. Hoping the 128 will be a little more practical but still fun when I need a blow out :D

I had one before my m240i. Really good car.
Wicked, any issues to look out for mate?

Thanks mate. Yeah I've read the bridgestones are a bit sub-par, this one has the mich pilot sports on.
That sounds a bit lower than I was hoping, I've seen some people reporting up to 50mpg on a run 60-65mph in eco pro, does that sound a bit optimistic?

I'd say optimistic and then some. You'd maybe get mid 40s in eco mode sitting at 55mph a few feet off the back of an artic, but in normal conditions 50mpg isn't happening.

Nothing interesting for sale, either the price is ridiculous or the car is a shed. I forgot how 'fun' buying cars was..

Sometimes you have to just keep watching. The Z4 literally appeared on AT Wednesday evening, I quickly went to the dealer website and put a £200 deposit on it. Popped in the next day for a test drive and paid the full deposit. Collect it on 26th.

When I was in the dealer 2 people called to try and reserve/check if it was still available.

Had it from new for about 3 years. Not a single issue during that time.

I'm looking at 2019-2020 530D/540i and M340i's, mainly looking at the condition, mileage and price, the spec isn't as important.

What was it about your particular Z4 that made it so desirable?

Under £30k from a BMW dealer, with the right options (it's ex-demo).

It was an added bonus it was in the our preferred colour combo (black/cream).

“Look at all this coarse sand on my car, I bet it’s super bad for paint”

-> Wipes it off with hand

:(

It's hardly sand

And no I don't usually do this

Iv got more chance of scratches on my car from the local feline species and seagulls landing on my car

Took me just over 3 and half months for the right M340i Touring to come up with the spec I wanted, mileage and in the right colour (Dravit). Was definitely worth the wait though.
