Needed a new Wheel Brush so decided to go for Autobrite’s - Large Flexible Wheel Brush.

It seems decent quality so will be interesting to see how it holds up over use.

Should make cleaning the inner barrel less of a chore!

I bought some additional supplies. I'm not entirely sure when I'll be able to clean to car next, viewing houses this Saturday and also have the in-laws visiting until Wednesday

  • Labocosmetica Purifica - Running low on CarPro Descale so I wanted to try something different
  • Labocosmetica Sidero - I like the idea of having a gel consistency and can apparently be diluted, should aid in putting it into a pump sprayer to save aching trigger finger. Also had limescale removal abilities
  • Infinity Wax citrus pre-wash - Just chucked this in for achieving free delivery, plus will be good to apply on lower panels under Touch-Less
  • Infinity Wax leather cleanser - I'm low on LRC Leather Cleaner which is quite pricey, have to admit that the smell of the IW product whilst a nice smell, isn't as good LRCs which has a strong leather smell to it
  • Maxshine 750ml spray bottle - Hmm should have read up more about these, they don't have flexible pick up tubes so can't use at extreme angles
  • Gyeon Leather Wipe - Had a terry town that came with the LRC set which despite several uses and machine washed, still lints like mad
  • Some applicators - mainly to get to free delivery

Worst detailing product I ever bought. Little protective nipple came off the end first use.

i got one very similar
prepare for spray back into your face :D

I know how the… never mind :p

I know people have mixed views on this style, I’ve previously used Meguires Microfibre - But found it heavy to use due to all the solution it held, but probably the better brush.

Caps are a weak point, I’ll see how I get on and try not to use it like a Caveman would :D

Just gave the car a quick clean and it was a pleasure to use, minus a little back splash.

I use a noodle mitt for the wheels. I don't see the need for a brush just for the wheel face.

Good point

Come to think of it

Noodle mitt Vs wheel brush

Well, I guess the brush is good for when the wheels get really bad as they are the lowest part of the car, and for brake dust. So really hard to shift stuff if you don't keep onto of the cleaning

Just make sure that rubber cap on the end stays secure, I have a similar brush and I'm so paranoid about the end cap popping off and ruining my wheels.

I'm sure this place used to be called the Car Cleaning Thread. Took me ages to find it!

2 Questions

What's the best product to return black plastics (exterior) back to black? The Fenders (sorry. It's American!) have faded a lot and i'd like to restore them. Same on the hard top roof.

What's the best product to re-paint interior plastics? I bought this on Ebay, but it's pretty tatty. Could do with a decent clean/paint

https://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/gtechniq-c4-permanent-trim-restorer is supposed to be one of the only "permanent" restorers for black plastic, other "back to black" style products are essentially just dressing that needs to be reapplied regularly.

Before resorting to specialist vinyl paint - I'd try giving it a good scrub with some APC or Interior cleaner, and a nail brush - I suspect a lot of it's just long term grime sat in the texture

Nice one. I suspect your right on the centre console. It's not like the rest of the Jeep is spotless, so as long as i can improve on it a lot it'll be good.

I'd say keep them topped with a spray wax. That helps loads.

I've got a 200 mile trip to Cornwall tomorrow , a week down there .... I know when I get back the car will be filthy, some rain forecast, but I still have a massive itch to go away in a sparkling clean car ... Do you bother washing before decent length trip away ??
Must resist ....maybe

That's half the fun isn't it? Jump in a nice clean car ready for a road trip.

Getting back grubby is part of the experience also :)
