An Elder Scrolls: Oblivion thead

I can't honestly see how it will be any good... It's such an old game... It's ancient even compared to Skyrim and that needs the living daylights modded out of it to be half decent...?

I mean you're right, even Skyrim by today's standards has massive issues that make it nearly unplayable if you're accustomed to how the latest games play. But oblivion has a lot of nostalgia and it's free on gamepass, so still definitely give it a try either way.

Additionally the rumours say that some game systems and mechanics have been reworked, melee combat is supposedly updated to play more like a modern game. Hopefully they fix the Leveling and gear systems too

Just give me modern horse riding mechanics. If not KCD2's then The Witcher 3's at the very least. Traversing the game world on horseback is the worst thing about Skyrim, let alone Oblivion.

I can probably cope with the rest :cry:

Plenty of older games have had remakes and performed well. Not sure what the age has to do with it tbh.
 
I just get the feeling it will be like playing command and conquer 'remastered' after playing star craft 2...

It's just going to be a huge disappointment, but with high res textures and HDR.

I'm not saying I'll avoid it... but I certainly won't be jumping on the bandwagon.... as far as we know it's basically just abondon-ware with some high-res textures thrown in to milk the cow...

I mean if it's only on game pass, it kinda stands to reason they already know that they can't really charge any money for it. :D

I don't think abandonware means what you think it does. It won't only be on game pass either lol, well not confirmed but I'd bet anything you want. You sound like you're getting a remake and remaster mixed up tbh.

I think it will be a pile of pish, but I have fond memories of the origonal so I'm reserving final judgement.

I disliked the original, never made it past when you get to the stronghold thing.
I'm not really fussed either way lol.
 
Apparently it's a full remake in UE5 but it's titled remastered, that's what PinkSlipper69 told me on Reddit, he won't lie to me like Marky did.
 
It won't be the exactly the same game with prettier graphics.
