The Radeon RX9070XT / RX9070 Owners Thread

The 5070ti is only available at MSRP now is because people are buying the 9070xt instead. The 5070ti was £900 until the 9070xt came out. The idea that Nvidia are offering value, "flooding the market" by being altruistic or whatever is laughable.

Better feature set (not sure what that actually means) is meaningless when your drivers are so bad. AMD are playing the game, but they're playing it better.

Anyway, the recent driver has given my 9070xt a bump in performance. Still very happy with mine :)

what case do you have, there is no way a nitro should be at 70% fan, mine was fixed via fan controller at 25% and the hotspot didn't pass the low 80's under heavy load
DarkBase Pro 901, with 10 fans running. The GPU/hotspot hits it's max in 5-10 minutes, so can pretty much rule out the case-ambient temp as an issue.

It's just a hotter chip, or bad paste job (maybe both). And it's fine after lowering the power limit. Custom fan curve also helps
Steel Nomad at stock : after 60 seconds Core:59/60 degrees. Hotspot 85/86. Fan% 43

I don't even think the 'feature set' that Nvidia typically had as a big selling point is as strong as it was before.

RT is much improved with the 9000 series, Nvidia Reflex is good and it was something I always felt like I was missing - but Anti Lag 2 (since the improvements to 2) is now as good as Reflex and the games that support it you can really notice that improvement to latency. And we all know that FSR4 is now comfortably competitive with DLSS - so what other features are there?

I think your right but why on earth would anyone need 10 fans never found I need more than two out and maybe one in if that

More airflow, less (or less annoying) noise. I had the fans just sitting around.
3 are on a 420 aio, bottom rear and side intakes. Couple exhaust up top, they're all sat at 30/40% (except the aio), whatever keeps it quiet and cool.

certain it runs really well I do need to try it some time maybe with my next case

a couple of the guys up my local wargames club have fans everywhere but they ended up airlocking the flow and kept talking about adding more fans till they listened to advice

The review I saw of the cheapest 9070 XT Pulse model was quiet but was running very hot and had issues with fan ramping behavior. The cheapest 5070 Ti Phoenix has a 11.8% larger cooler than the 9070 XT Pulse and is more power efficient so I don't understand why this would be louder by a significant margin?
to be fair techpowerup had it as the lowest dBA card they have tested and running at 57c on full load

My Pulse doesn't even hit 60 degrees,it's the coolest and quietest card I have ever had unless I'm playing COD

Same here. It sits at about 55c and usually sub 30% fan speed and is the quietest air cooled GPU I have ever used. All the talk of VRAM hitting high 80s means nothing because it’s well within spec.

Similarly my tests of DLSS4 vs FSR4 show they trade blows with DLSS4 being marginally better but largely game dependent. The only issue with FSR is having to use Optiscaler but it really only becomes an issue if you play MP games.

If AMD keep releasing updates with approved FSR4 games then I can’t complain.

The reason I bought one is that it has better raster performance in the games I play compared to it's Nvidia counterpart.
If the 5070Ti was the card that had better raster in the games I played, I would have purchased that.
Same for me. Considerably better in the games I play too. Made it an easy decision luckily.

Yep, I can confirm, my 9070 XT Pulse is 2x quieter than my old 3070. That's in small itx case, CM RN200P.

Yes. I was originally going to get a 5080 but at its price point it was hard to justify the 16gb. When the 9070 XT launched and I saw it's performance in the games I play, it was a no brainer.
There will be users that this doesn't apply to, for example people playing PT games or gamers that do productivity workloads, however that's not me.
same as me then the extra features people talk about with nvidia never apply to me or anyone I know in real life

I can't play cod on my it's just crashing all the time with DirectX errors and drivers crashes.
is that still going on it must be a software problem not amd as such

did you fresh instal windows yet >? I would be tempted to try a spare drive with just windows and a fresh cod instal

It's definitely a COD problem as it was perfect up until the update before last
