Silent Hill 2 PC

Don't care if F ends up not feeling exactly like the SH of old, I'm just glad the series is being revived and the trademark stuff is still there by the looks of it (metal pipe FTW). Maybe it'll feel closer to Siren or Fatal Frame in terms of atmosphere, I'm in anyways. This is the first full-fledged SH title in years and a chance to get the series back on the right track so I'm hopeful.
 
Long shot asking on here, but does anyone know why DLSS4 latest upscaling presets (i.e. K) just don't work in this particular game?

I have tried EVERY technique I know that's currently available i.e. swapping in the latest DLL files, forcing it via the Nvidia app, forcing via Nvidia Inspector, and even using DLSSTweaks. Nothing works. Using the regedit hack that shows OSD DLSS info all I ever get is Preset E no matter what I do.

This is the first game I've had this issue with, wondering if there are others too now?....

Global profile inspector override and manually swapped to the latest dlls in the game folder?

Works for me:

Nice one bud!

I don't use the global Nvidia Inspector profile normally, I prefer to do it on a per game profile. However, that doesn't work as I found for this game - ONLY combo that works is as you say - global NV Inspector profile AND using the latest DLSS DLL file.

Where did you place it? I also have the Preset E issue only in SH2. I've placed "nvngx_dlss.dll" in the root folder for SH2 where the games .exe is located but still only get preset E?

Glad you sorted it. For info, to get the latest DLSS dll in the right place - either use DLSS Swapper app, or manually it goes here....

your install location..........\SHProto\Plugins\DLSS\Binaries\ThirdParty\Win64
 
just messing around with my 5080. I enabled DLSS and Frame Gen, works great, was pleasantly surprised..but there was no FG x2, x3 or x4?

Is this just the game or should the extra Frame Gen options be there?
