Did a lot of the performance issues get patched out? There was so much microstutter on launch that it put me off… and my save doesn’t seem to have uploaded to steam on my old PC which means I’m back to the start…. Nooo.
Had a quick look in nvidia panel. Seems I set it to 60fps cap when I turned of vrr.
Brother way, I am seeing no tearing or anything weird not having gsync on in two games I have tried now. First was Mortal Kombat 1 and now Silent Hill 2.
On a separate note. @mrk what do you cap your games on when having frame gen on. Obviously capping at 60fps does not work as I found out. Does 90 work or is 120 really the minimum?
Most games seem to run fine with gsync enabled. Its only ones which are super dark and or low frame rates that seem to cause vrr flicker.
Since August when I bought the AW3225QF its only Silent Hill 2 I had vrr flicker issues in. Everything else has been OK with gysc enabled.

Still 100~ if FG is being used too.

Playing it now. With my current settings I can't hit 100 with FG on. Goes from around 60 to around 80 turning it on. Not good enough as still can see issues as I move the camera around.
Maybe need to enable ray reconstruction which I think I recall @mrk saying could be enabled in the game. Does that work properly?
Ray reconstruction is baked into the engine with this game you just have to enable it via the ini file line additions. It cleans up RT denoising and improves reflections.

With the latest patches, latest dlss and ray reconstruction, game is looking bloody great and running really well, most of the annoying micro stutter is gone now, also, seems VRR flicker is less noticeable (prob because fps is better and more consistent). Looks stunning:
Also on this, you need to add the ray reconstruction file too @TNA
Need fg here to get to 70fps in opening area. A considerably better experience than no FG with FPS at 40-50
Yeah, but image quality suffers in motion unfortunately. 80fps does not cut it with FG.
Focus around James's head as you move the camera around, you will see it.
I will just use my OC profile which gets me to 60fps and cap it there and use that.
Using my PS5 controller anyway so 60fps is fine.
